All these comments put so much importance on the way the stylist looked. She's on her feet all day. She should be comfortable. Besides who cares as long as she does a good job. All these people judging when they aren't even there. And the clients hair being "dirty" do you know what kind of hair she has? Maybe she has the kind of hair that gets "dirty" as soon as she washes it. Maybe she just came from the gym. Maybe she was told to come in like that. Maybe she puts oil in her hair. I do everyday. So unless you are there and know exactly what's going on maybe you should just keep your comments to yourself. To the stylist you did an awesome job. I think her hair looks great!

I think she did a great job. I've had hairdressers that were all dressed to impress and didn't do a good job on my hair. What is important? That she is a good stylist and isn't aggressive with the scissors.

I had such a bad experience once after having my hair is washed prior to cutting that I ALWAYS have a dry now. They cut so much off forgetting that when it's blow dried, it's shorter!!! I always wash it straight away when I get home though. 😀

Yet another brilliant video. Love the technique. All this talk about not needing to cut the hair wet etc... all depends on the texture and hair density. I would have done her roots I hate seeing hair with dyed hair roots showing nice haircut but it should have been washed first. My hair dressers always washes people hair first dyes cuts restyled washed etc. This haircut does look much better for her I like it

Havent u ever heard of a wet cut and blow dry? My 1st job out of cosmetology school was at a place call fantastic sams. That was all we did. Wet cut blow dry out the door $6. All these videos on this channel are in other countries not the usa.

I don't understand why these people insist on getting the Client's Hair Soaking, Sopping, Dripping Wet to cut it !!!!! I have been cutting & styling Women's Hair for more than 30 years as a hobby, and have done both wet, and dry cuts, and honestly have had a much more accurate Cut when done on fully dry hair, and without the need to go back in, and do even more cutting & trimming at the end. I have watched Stylists do wet cuts, only to have to go back in and do even more Cutting after blow drying the hair. They call it "Fine Tuning" the Cut, but in reality, they are going back in to trim the areas they missed when the hair was wet. Way back in the 50's & 60's, and early 70's, all Women's Haircuts were done on dry hair only, and then someone comes along with the brilliant idea of soaking down the hair before cutting, and next thing ya know, they are basically doing 2 haircuts, back to back on their Clients, with the 2nd Fine Tune Cut being done to fix the mistakes left behind in the first cut, because you cannot ever get a fully accurate cut on wet hair !!!!! Even big City Salons are now realizing this, and are starting to return to doing all hair cutting on fully dry hair only.... Gee, I wonder why ?

I feel that doing haircuts on wet hair, and having to redo them again after the hair is dry, is just a way to keep the Client in that Chair Longer, so that the Salon Owner can "Justify" charging more for the haircut.

Hi Kevin. I’m a stylist. Cutting *damp* hair allows more control of the hair. If the stylist is inexperienced, they likely missed spots, but dry cutting after is primarily about adding texture and removing weight without altering the total structure too much. Sometimes, cutting wet isn’t suitable for the client, and some just prefer to cut dry, like yourself. It depends on the situation. Prices, are another matter. Many stylists spend a lot of time and money on education (formal and informal), and increased demand of a stylist will result in higher prices. Also, after so many years in the business, a $20 cut and style just doesn’t “cut” it. We deserve raises too. Just sharing some insight! :)

@ Mr Potter, I have done cuts on damp hair, and they are ok, but I watch stylists on here all the time soaking the hair until it's dripping wet, and that creates an issue with some clients with water running down the back of their neck, etc, and it's just not a good thing. I prefer doing my cuts on fully dry hair, and have earned far to many compliments to count on my dry cuts, and the 4 complaints I received were from doing wet cuts.
