Exactly, I had that for a while and it was horrible as I didn't have time to style it daily. This is actually not an easy style to maintain. Go really short or go really long.

This is horrible! The same happened to me. A hairdresser literally gave me a cut like this, said it was "age appropriate", I left there looking like a dude and an old house frail. Thank God my hair grows fast. It is the way you style your hair and carry yourself that will make you look younger.

The only way to make her look 10 years younger is to cover up the gray hair, don't cut it too short and put a little bit of makeup on her. Definitely get rid of the gray hair, because gray hair makes you look 20 years older than what you are.

I'm old. I have hair beyond my waist. It's Grey and much thinner than it used to be. Sometimes, I wear it loose and style it, but most of the time, it's in a long side braid with wispy bangs and side tendril curls. Easy peasy.

Her hair is very straight, it hangs perfectly, excellent cut , the top and sides have flow and movement , the heat element is easy , she just tucked the ends down, I think the style slenderize her face nicely. She probably didn't want it dyed it can ruin the texture of your hair . I think the lady was very pleased .

I’m a 50 year hairstylist and not too many people look good with hair below the shoulders, and sometimes the shoulder length is too long! if your face has sagged your long hair makes it look worse! Just because you can’t grow it doesn’t necessarily mean you should!

What a ridiculous statement. I didn't know hair was a uniform and farty bobs are prescribed for every woman over 40. I agree long hair can drag the face down in some cases - it can be styled (i.e. layers) for volume and movement. A woman's hair is her crown, her glory, her femininity.

@@style_muse What is it on a man? I spent two hours last night watching the KZbin channel, The Regal Gentleman, a show where men have their locks trimmed by a very personable and talented barber. One masculine man came in, his abundant hair down to his lower back. His long hair didn't make him "feminine", but a little wild and earthy. He had most of it cut off, which is what he wanted. The barber explained every cut he made, and what effect it would achieve; how such and such a length would bring out his jawline, eyes, etc. People weren't teased or judged by the length they preferred to have their hair. It was totally up to them. The host is absolutely delightful. It was a trip.

Although my hair looks best with a short cut and that’s the way I wore it most of my life because of my occupation in the health field. Covid allowed me to get through the awkward stages to grow it out and now I love being able to put it up or pull it back when I want to get it off my neck and face. But the truth of the matter is I need to get it styled as it’s curly/wavy and kind of out of control. Lol

You made a very common mistake. You accidentally did a diagonal-back on the left side while executing a diagonal-forward on the right side. 1:30 2:10 & especially 2:38

It's actually hard to tell if it improved the woman's look because they didn't show a before and after. I can't for the life of me understand why she butchered the back like that if she wasn't going to carry through with a style that blends on the sides and front. And the back just layed weird. I'm thinking it will (hopefully) look better if the woman just lets it air dry. All of the flat ironing made it look dowdy.

Actually, she wasn't giving her texture. She was removing some of the bulk of the thickness from her hair. As well as blending it in with the bottom section of her hair.

Beautiful, incredible condition of hair! I don't understand why the stylist cut the back twice, and wore her fingers out on allllllllll those seemingly unnecessary snips, but the end result was a great style. It'll be better for the client when it grows out a bit. And not to return (at least to this stylist) for another 6-8 months!

I am of the belief that women USUALLY look younger with shorter hair as they age. But it in large part depends on the cut. This was a bad cut. And her hair was so beautiful to begin with.
