This is played with the "Gold Cartridge" version of the game, where the 3 extra stages are available by default. Technically, the 3 extra stages are available in the regular cartridge as well - but they're only accessible using very elaborate button code or use of Game Genie.
This is (I call it) the "fifth" set of multiplayer mode - the characters start with maxed powerups, minus mines, homing and remote bombs

is this out in the US? looks interesting; personally I liked super bomberman 1 the best as it was simple enough; some of the powerups give too much of an advantage but this would be good to try!

Only Super Bomberman 1 and 2 saw US release (while 3 saw EU release), Super Bomberman 4 and 5 were Japan-exclusive 16/07/15

+SecondPlaceEagle Seems to work only on the Gold Cartridge version of the game, maybe on the regular version it's a different code or not available altogether, I'm waiting for confirmation.

+RubycoredBejeweled Aw thats a shame, I thought buying the normal cartridge and the hudson turbo controller was enough to get everything that's in the gold cartridge! I wonder if there are any other differences?
