For the cake on 1-4, once you are on the exit monitor, you can pause the game and wait the time. The cake will still appear while paused. Useful so you don't have to worry about the stage timer as much.

Great work! Sorry late to the party. 2:13 is the bookmark for placing bombs on the 4 corners. Counts for either player. Version differences, is it basically just Japanese has the extra story and DRAW animations and English NTSC and PAL have that long 10 second startup delay before they can choose a mode? PAL at 50 Hz aside.
