Super Bowl Jumbo Perch Ice Fishing Lake St Clair Michigan

On super bowl Sunday I hit up lake St. Clair for a quick mid-day ice fishing trip out from the Day Sail ramp at the Lake St. Clair Metro Park. Made a few moves quickly landed on a loaded area full of fish. Could have brought home a full limit but felt 25 would be plenty to take home that day.
4mm Tungsten Ice Jig did all the heavy lifting for me this day. It was tipped with soft plastics. Nothing like doing some winter fishing here in Michigan on the Ice!

Nice catch J.C.! That's some of the nicest keeper I have seen come outta Metro in quite a while! Usually it DINK after DINK after DINK after DINK then oop's a keeper! Cotton rd. has been producing 8's to 11's. My buddy was out Saturday and Sunday, took 33 first day and 28 Sunday.

Nice stuff ... I caught enough nice perch out there in two trips so freezer is looking good... it’s funny because I went an hour without a keeper 2 weeks ago.. I hit 8 .5 feet and lights out... took only 30 min for 25 keepers... move move move ... for me that’s key👊👊☝️... awesome footage Mr. D shot👊👊☝️

I was out there at metro sunday as well until noon. Took home 4 8-11 inches. Lost a couple nice ones at the hole. They shut off at 9:30 for me and couldnt get back on them after several moves. I was in 8 ft of water. Gonna try again this weekend at metro. Nice fish and good luck.

@@JCDropshot i talked to a lot of people out there it seemed to be hit or miss. A few had limits and others couldnt find fish. They had luck anywhere from 5-10 ft of water and some went left and others went right of the ramp. Most had luck away from shanty city though.

Own a ton of plastics for panfish. I fished the Angler's Choice Wiggle Fry and the Power Bait Ice Mayfly all where rigged on a 4mm Tungsten

Silly question for you. I’ve never perch fished Lake St Clair. I’ve always used minnows everywhere else. Do many guys use minnows and how successful are these ice fishing st Clair? I ask because just about everything I’ve see is jigging. Thx and I appreciate your channel!

Minnows are used a ton also. Bead spoons are very popular because no bait is need and you can move fast and unhook the fish fast and get back down
