You sure you just didn't see "precipitation"? Every time NYC/Boston get a foot of snow, that could be 30 times that it rained in Seattle. You need to search total sunny days, total days with rain, and total days with snow.

neosapiens snowfall and rainfall amounts are kept as separate stats by the national weather service- Seattle does have more rainy days but gets far less rain- in fact Seattle gets less rain in the summer then new York and Boston as well
