@@robbie192 I saw the game, and in the beginning Pittsburgh was like a deer in headlights. But once they settled in, they outplayed Dallas with the exception of Neil's two interceptions which gave Dallas 14 free points. Pittsburgh had more first downs, more passing yards. and more rushing yards.
@cassidy109

@@deadeye4520 The Cowboys were clearly the better team. Between 1991 and 1997 the Cowboys and the Steelers played each other four times, the Steelers lost all four times, each time by double digits. That onside kick in the 4th quarter was indicative of an inferior opponent scratching for every possible advantage they could muster. No way would a more talented team make a roll of the dice like that. You have to hand it to that Steelers team though, they played their hearts out and caught the Cowboys sleep walking through the second half, but ultimately the superior team prevailed.

I'm only 40 years old soon to be 41, I became a Steelers fan in the early 90's and still is to this day, that was a lifetime commitment I made but anyway. This is the 1st Steelers SuperBowl memory for me, and when they lost this game I cried my eyes out no lie. Being a Steelers fan being born and raised in Chicago actually wasn't as bad as one would think, we are everywhere "wink" but I knew and always had faith that I'd live to see a Steelers SuperBowl victory and sho nuff I did... When we beat Seattle I remember I was working for the city of Chicago @ O'Hare Airport and I remember being at work that SuperBowl Sunday and when we won... I remember crying tears of joy I was so happy... So I can honestly say that we are (2-2) in the SuperBowl since I've been alive. Oh man I feel like crying now typing this 🤣🤣🤣 #PS4L

This was a tough one as a Steeler fan. You had the Cowboys at the tail end of their dynasty with 4 future Hall of Famers on offense versus an overachieving Steeler team with no stars on offense at all. The Steeler defense was very good though (2nd in the NFL) with a great LB corps (Kevin Greene, Greg Lloyd, Levon Kirkland, Chad Brown/Jerry O) + Rod Woodson (recovering from ACL tear) and Carnell Lake in the secondary. This was a classic "strength on strength" matchup (Dallas Offense vs Steelers Defense), which meant the other side of the ball (Dallas Defense vs Steelers Offense) would likely determine the game --- and boy did it. Two crushing unforced error interceptions when they had the momentum and had worn down the Dallas team on both sides of the ball ended up deciding it.

@persona-non-grata

@@davidpollard4051 True, but Levon Kirkland and others more than stepped up I think. If someone would have told me that Troy Aikman would have a pedestrian day and Emmitt Smith (during the best season of his career with 1773 rushing yards and 25 td's) would be held to 49 total yards on 25 carries, I would have said they were crazy. The Steelers shut down their offense the entire second half. It's just the interceptions + talent disparity between the Steelers O and Dallas D was a bit too much to overcome. But Dallas was the better team overall, there's no denying that. Better talent top to bottom and deserved to win. I can't be too salty because the Steelers would go on to win 2 more SB's in the next 13 years; while Dallas would *implode* and become a laughing stock in the NFC lol.

@@ryanr20091 Yeah, those were good teams back in the day. Today's corrupt NFL is about pushing narratives & they use the refs to help that out. The Patriots owner was the main person who got Goodell in & look what has done for the Patriots the last 20 years. Think back to all those breaks those teams got from the refs time after time. It's no coincidence. Oh & the Pat's owner allegedly got caught with underage girls at a massage parlor & notice how all that got swept under the rug. Last year was so obvious where the NFL is desperate to win over the 2nd biggest market with Los Angeles. It was a no-brainer they spent all that money for LA teams, you knew one of them was going to win the Super Bowl. Way too much corruption in the NFL these days of something I very much used to enjoy.

This was a dog fight . I see why Big Ben went 15-1 his rookie year with the Steelers . Great defense . If Baltimore had Flacco 2001 to 2007 they would have made atleast 2 more SuperBowls

Neil said " I will make some money as a player but if I bet against myself & throw a couple of picks, I will be filthy rich" That is the ultimate F U to the game. It uses these men up,their bodies & minds(just like any job) so you might as well make as much money as you can. He took the money and ran.

Neil O Donnell gifted that Super Bowl with 2 INTs to Larry Brown. 28 + Years later, how Cowboys look now, CHOKE ARTISTS with 3 straight Playoff Losses, 2 to 49ers and Home loss to 9-8 Packers! Yuck!

If the cowboys went ahead and gotten warren sapp, Derrick brooks instead of the bucs in 95. And later they drafted mike alstott to replace moose in 96? And instead of David lafleur, they get tony g? And later moss in 98 with Irvin entering the twilight? They would own the nfl like the New England patriots of the 2000s

To think the next counted game they played after this they lost 22-6 to the Bears on a Monday night season opener, to lose by that much to one of the worse teams in football, that was the begining of their downfall, their 96 season was awkward to say the least!

By looking at these highlights particularly those 2 picks and that run at the goalline saying smith was in and clearly he was not maybe I got watch the whole thing but those plays alone something fishy about this game I mean he just straight up threw the ball to him twice and no steeler in sight.

Morris would’ve been SB MVP if idiot O’donell didn’t throw those 2 interceptions. Still till this day don’t understand how he threw those interceptions when there was no receivers there.
