okay, i have a lot of thoughts, so let’s get through them one by one on the names situation: i nearly choked on my drink when i heard my name. i like tara/tarra as a name, and equally like rose (i don’t think it’s too close to rigs at all, but the poll results preferred tarra pretty strongly.) has the other character (the one with the name like tara) been visually revealed? maybe we could do a similar vote/workshop another name. until the game is out, all names are subject to change, right? second of all, you’re right! portabello is SO cute. i wanna hang out there! as a side note, portabello is one of the most infamous varieties of edible mushroom- it would be funny to include a reference. great town overall! i love it : ) speaking of things i love, i am SO jazzed about the level design. the sticky honey, the strings of airborne enemies, the blocks with spikes- it looks like the options for how to get through levels are really opening up! my favorite part of games is getting to explore the world, and these levels look like they’ve got a lot to show off! super excited ^^ as a last note, though, i do have some questions about checkpoints. are you able to turn off the game and resume at a checkpoint? the advantage of a mobile game is that you can play it anywhere- i can pull out sct2 when i’m standing in line, or on the bus, or lost in the desert! with life moving so fast, though, i worry that longer levels might mean i might not have enough time to finish them in one go. checkpoints would be very useful to me if they allowed quicksaving. i dont know how to get in touch with your musician so i’ll say it here: they never miss! every song is a total banger!! thank you dreamsbell ^^ overall super excited for everything! would be happy to offer any technical assistance that i can, especially now that i’m majoring in game design ^^

a new devlog! i have some name suggestions that is close to tara: clara, gaia, leia, mia, zia, or naya. also, nice addition of checkpoint system to the game, but i hope there's an option where you can turn it off as well, so that there is still challenge for sct players. rooting for this and keep up the good work!

For the checkpoint mechanic, there could be a three life system where if you die in the same area 3 times, you'll start the level over so that it feels more punishing

It would be cool if a Level with Multiple Checkpoints (if have) have a Option to Choose where you want to Start (After Beating the Level), like Star the Level in the Second Checkpoint to Collect something you Missed. Btw, the Beach Girls Sprites are Adorable! 😍

Now that you've added this system to the game, and are planning to add different save files to the game, would a hard mode be nice? One of the kind that you unlock after beating the game at least once, just so we don't have any players forcing themselves to go through an unpleasant experience blindly. Keep up the good job

I think the checkpoint should be for the room before the one you died in, unless the rooms are big it might make deaths not matter, you could instead lose coins too

The new cat for paws and super cat tales 2 will be munsgy moon that have the same Power of luna but only whith the moon on the map so make levels then you need to use munsgy moon and the color of munsgy will be blue light and mixed whith purple too

So I've played both cat tales games (Still playing through the second game) and I honestly don't mind the more story aspect the game has. Makes the cast feel alive. The items are a bit expensive even if I'm just at world 3. The 60 bell toll is behind a 750 coin wall, and that's an issue. Some bells go even behind a 2000 coin wall, which was devastating in 3-4: bat graveyard. Good game, minus those gripes. That bieng said... for an idea... what if there's a town (and to an extent a cat) who enjoys music? The tunes he plays could be used to stun or flip over objects to reveal things. Of course, A shovel is still needed for stuff that's burrowed into the ground. The only name for them I can think of is Tune. Weak name, but I'm not good with names. And my personal favorite cat is shinji, mainly because he's a blue cat, and it fits the sailor vibe well

I have a great feeling that the checkpoints will be effective for this game. I've got an idea--instead of having players pay to use checkpoints, or making them free, you should make it that not using a checkpoint will give coins for free. This idea is from the game Shovel Knight.

How about the grey cat name Sam, short for “Samantha” from Apple TV+ new movie Luck. The orange cat should be Hiro, short for “Hirohito” the Japanese Emperor of WW2. Interestingly, Hirohito was not the one to cause Japan to go to war, the war was in the hands of Tojo and his military leaders.
