Why do you glue the eyes? Isn’t using the backings more secure? Legitimately curious…

It depends on the yarn, with thicker yarn the stitches are larger and there is more risk that the eye gets pulled out - I feel safer hot gluing them because the chenille yarn melts onto the safety eye
