Buy upgraded oil filled shocks and be done with it.
@theminiatureconstructionco45563 жыл бұрын
Yep that's one way of doing it sure. But if you don't want to buy a set of shocks this is easy and cheap. Plus since converting them they have not lost a drop of oil, unlike alot of supposed "oil filled shocks" I've had in the past. 👍😊

Yes i'm quite fond of it. Thought id lost the transmitter for it a while ago so its not been touched. Turns out it was in front of me all the time. That's the only trouble with Wltoys transmitters they are all the same. Must remember to mark them up!!!!😄And yes you cant beat a cheap hack! Thanks for watching!!

my Virhuck V-01 (12428 clone), put small neoprene rubber servo grommets onto the shaft of a small screwdriver, with a hobby knife carefully slice the "buttons" from the smaller center tube section, makes two shock seals to install wet with oil, flat side up. the interior wall of the servo grommets are flat and make a really good seal, tighten the lower cap "finger snug" is plenty. for the rears I used 10w-40 motor oil, for the shorter harder spring fronts I used extra/spare WPL yellow grease is a little harder to fill without air bubbles, but those stiff little shocks dampen very nicely with that light grease in them. the cool part, if you're into the RC stuff, you've got a couple servo grommets to do this with already, doing all 4 shocks might take 20-30 minutes at most, its pretty simple once you start.
@theminiatureconstructionco45564 жыл бұрын
Yes I'd have to agree, it's a very simple straightforward fix. That pretty much anyone could have a go at! 👌👍

@@theminiatureconstructionco4556 was fun when the V-01 arrived and one of the first things I went after, "oh.. servo grommets = seals!" finger tight to the lower cups they haven't leaked, cost was about 0 :)

yup, they're made to BE oil filled but they don't put any seals in them. the tops do have an interior expansion cap, but nothing for lower seals. nice shocks too really, the bodies are a hard nylon/plastic with threaded bodies for the spring collars, so they're pretty easily adjustable.
@theminiatureconstructionco45564 жыл бұрын
@@modelnutty6503 I do like the wide adjustability on them for definite! 👍

@@modelnutty6503 I have tested, and found the cheaperplastic/nylon bodied shocks I have are actually better than the cheaper metal ones once filled with oil ,Funnily enough my LCR EMB WRC car has the same nylon dampers and also best damping.The ones I have ,have a nylon seating washer then 2 rubber rings then another nylon seating washer .I didnt need file mine down they have a lip on them for the hole inside shock ,so i just turned them the other way so the lip fits between the hole and the suspension rod ?

Little bit of grease on the o-rings and teflon tape on the threads help to seal the shock even better.

@@theminiatureconstructionco4556 nice video. But I am confused about the dimensions. You say 2mm in the video, and here you say 3mill, and on another comment you say 2,5 mm. So what is it, and where to buy the o-rings. Thanks
@theminiatureconstructionco45562 жыл бұрын
@@henningbortne8650 I think I was referring to the thickness? There is some wiggle room to be honest. If you have a set in front of you just measure the internal diameter of the shock, the stantion diameter and that will give you an idea. I actually got the o-rings out of a set of small o-rings in a box. You would have to have a search round once you have decided on the dimensions. 👍

@theminiatureconstructionco45564 жыл бұрын
Hello again! I think it may be the batteries in the controller? Its literally just happened to me as I was playing around with it. I put some battery's in the transmitter that I thought were good, switched it all on and it started doing some really strange things!!! Tried loads of different things etc. Just out of interest chucked some other batts in the remote and bang works perfectly again! Hope this helps? 👍👍👍👍
@crustysleet4 жыл бұрын
I did get it wet however it started up the next day and ran just fine for a while before i think the steering servo grinded off the gears because it no longer turns whn you use the transmitter turn function or the alignment function. Ove ordered a full metal upgrade kit and a new motor, esc, and steering servo basically the works... it should be nice when done
