I concur. The garden is dead, the trees overgrown. My kitchen appliances are on the floor as are a ton of dead leaves. There's still a dirty bottle in the sink and the car is at least as bad as one never cared for. Codsworth was a ripoff of a flyswatter on a perpetual break. Coming home from the vault he's all 'Yay, you're back!' but I think he's just sucking up like a teen caught smoking in the boys room.

Beautiful place but not very post apocalypse, by the way, the Vault Tek rep doesn't die you can get to meet him in Boston and even send him to Sanctuary (sadly in my game he was killed en route).

*Spoiler* The Vault Tec dude did not die. He is in Goodneighbor, at The Rexford. If you talk to him he will come back to Sanctuary. He is also a Lvl 4 vendor. If you put him at a leveled "General" store, he will have some Legendary items (or Legendary Bits-N-Bobs, which ever you prefer...lol). TY for this, love it. May have to try that Settlement Transfer thing again, no luck last attempt...

Sanctuary looks so good. I'd love an option to fix it up to this level of detail after free banging on the yellow house for x amount of time. Such a great way to stick with lore, have this prewar aesthetic and make use of Sturgis' skills.

The metal houses in fallout 4 are actually real from the 50s I think if '50s I forgot the only lasted a few years there are some still in existence and they look pretty much the same as what is on fallout it's hilarious and great

I have aluminium siding from the 1950s, and let me tell you how also lovely it is to live in a metal box in the summertime. There's a reason you wrap food in aluminium foil for even cooking... Yes. replacemment siding is SO on the list.

The houses are Fallout's versions of Lustron homes - a real world state of the art (at the time) attempt at affordable, manufactured homes. Enameled steel walls, built in amenities - it was very futuristic for the time. There are still surviving examples of the homes being lived in now! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lustron_house

Nah they have different wear n tear based on variety of factors but many today are still nearly as good as day they were built. It comes down to environmental factors moisture, salt, wind, etc And owners of homes 🏡 taking care of or taking poor care of the homes.

The thing under the TV is a video player. There's a mod that lets you craft videos to play on the TV. I think it's part of, or connected to, the one that repairs the screen at Starlight drive in, so you can play films there too. Videos of the wasteland, I think it's called.

Since you're going on a break now is a good time to re mod my fallout. I like the quest mods and workbench setup I have but I think I'd like a playthrough where the settlements look like people have settled there over the past 200 years even if there are very few left. Time to re-watch you F4 videos for ideas and put in some overhauls.

I always have a Sanctuary mod. I usually go with the Minutemen Sanctuary but I really like the look of this one. Just need an 10 meter tall wall around the perimeter and about 150 turrets. Seal off the bridge with a massive security gate and add guard towers every 20 meters along the top of the wall. Also a turret on top of each house. 🤔🤷

On one video you mentioned how the twigs annoyed you. There is a mod on the Nexus called 'No More Twigs'. On the subject of metal houses, this was the fate of surplus USAAF bombers after WWII had ended. They were scrapped and the Allie was used for prefabricated houses.

The Radiation Queen comes courtesy of Videos of the Wastelands. Not sure if you have the mod or the author had it and neglected to remove the box from that residence. Let me know if you find where that purple mat comes from, I've been missing that texture since I came back to the commonwealth but the mat so underutilized I seldom see it outside the family home. But man when I do it's (gasp) unimmersive.
