It's the same as any vehicle ...cut some holes...weld in some hoops to mount the top...weld on some mounts at the axle for the bottom. Move stuff around until it fits .. it's not rocket science.

do you think a cummins diesel engine and transmission swap is a good idea cause i want a diesel jeep or stay gas
@Nouhhhhh9 жыл бұрын
+nintendopowerglove64 If your doing a diesel swap a 4BT cummins is about the only smart option but it will cost way more than a stroker and put out way less power so its really just for bragging rights and the fact you can say you roll coal. a stroker kit on the other end will put out 260-300 HP and will cost way less.
@dirtrider28338 жыл бұрын
+Split lane now really. if u put a little money into a 4 bt. I.e. injectors, turbo and the goodies diesels like they can pump way more power the 230-260. but u also have have to remember its 2x the torque and torque is what u want.
@afortnitenoob-fortnitebatt33627 жыл бұрын
Jaye_Smoove you should get a mid 2000s lb7 duramax and add another turbo if you have the money
@greynolds176 жыл бұрын
it would put out less hp but more torque and torque is what matters

@yerwrng10 жыл бұрын
even running a stock 4.0 5.13 gears and a stock 2.72 geared 231 I easily grenaded the stock inner 79 front 60 shafts the 35 spline upgraded stubs were fine ...sure they are the crappy neckdowns ,but it just shows that you're not really over axled running this combo ,as I needed to upgrade the stock 60 shafts to be solid performers with stock power and mild gearing I've not had a busted 14 bolt yet ,but I'll be pulling the shafts to replace a leaking hub seal ,so I'll get a look at the splines on the 14s shafts I'll be 100% amazed if they are still 100% straight . An xj like this weighs about 5---5500k , so he is not over axled ...lol...it is really about perfect guys running v-8s and heavy rigs with bigger than 40s are like guys running 35-36s on a polished dana 30 in terms of strengh .

yerwrng hey bud I am building a 88 xj and putting chevy stuff under it and was wondering if I can use the bracket off the jeep frontend to put on the chevy frontend. I have a 4inch fabtech to go under it
@yerwrng10 жыл бұрын
what axle ?? what brackets ??...off hand i'd say you will better off going to the steel yard buying square/rectangle tube and some plate of 3/16th -1/4 to build your own truss and link brackets it takes more time but is cheap and if you're only doing a 4 inch lift with a 60 you will find yourself making many mods to premade to fit all linck/brackets/steering links during suspension cycle ,which may make building from scratch quicker or atleast same time ...it's certainly cheaper to build a truss than to buy one ... if you're looking to use an axle truss premade for a driver drop put onto a chevy pass drop like a dana 60 i'd say off hand it will not just go together since tubew lenghts are not going to match and an xj has d30 front so obviously a d44 60 is going to be bigger in addition to the tube length not matching ...possibly depending on the piece it could be modified to work ,but i sdee the steel yard being a better fit/outcome .
@qssneaky10 жыл бұрын
yerwrng well the if the stock 4.6's in combination with the XJ dana bars were to equal out the 231 on a rough 79 over 60 the bolt would fit just right over the 60 shaft by the 46 forward stock performer. It weighs around 5600 lbs without the over axle on a 6x9 forward mount bracket with the 60 56 84. But that's on a good day. What I would do is run over axle and under engine with a 3.4 pie configuration without the dana 60. Then, I would take the 56 23 and put it on top of the 44F Thompson and trade that for some under axle 38's. If it was bogging down, I would hub seal the 24 and and change the 14 shafts to a 16.9 shaft..but that's only if my 45 t bar fucked up my 45 sway. On the weekends I take my 56 over cam shocks and put them forward on the dana 34. You would be an idiot to try and swap out a bracket that was on over axled under engined 45 XJ5679687543.0012. So good luck to ya you fuckin dumbfuck.
