One of the best parts about my job is I get to make stuff for some amazing installers and fabricators that I know. I have 7 lasers and 4 CNC tables (among other cool toys at the shop) so at times, I get to help with some pretty nice installs. This install by Greg (and crew) from Audio 916 in Sacramento is so nice! I am very proud to get to add just a little bit to their amazing work. I can't wait to see and hear it when it's all done!
I didn't count but i bet there is over 1,000 hex's i cut out. I used 3/16" steel. They came to me and said "we need a cover and we need it to be able to hold luggage or anything else while still allowing the amps to breathe". So i designed this, practiced it and finally sliced it up. They are going to clean it up and install it permanently. The Laguna tour video of SMD shop made me take a risk and bought a Laguna smart shop (used) and it changed my life. This video reminded of how I basically got started once companies know what capabilities you have the flood gates open. I've been super busy making panels for center console for different electronics whether it's for electrical panels or dashboards or really anything. Laguna customer service and help is top notch.

the brands are NOTHING though if you don't know what to do with them. You don't get SQ automatically because you picked a certain brand. Your old Alpine, xtant, JL and MB should be more than good enough to sound as great as anything out there if you know what you are doing.

Unfortunately I was still fairly young back then and really didn’t have a clue about equipment worked or how to actually set it up the right way. I remember that gain knob. 😂 🤦‍♂️ 🤦‍♂️. Had to be 3/4 up Dam I wish I knew more Back then. You can normally tell who knows what they are doing. When they show up with some basic equipment and it sounds 1000 times better then what your running and yet you’ve got all this high dollar equipment.

Zapco was huge on the west coast out of Modesto backing in the 80s. Expensive but worth it.. still using the sp4 with reference amps. Great vid!

The good Zapco stuff is hard to find these days unless you know a licensed dealer. I run two Zapco amps. A 150w x 4 4 channel amp, and a 3k watt monoblock. Both amps costed me $1500 apiece. They don't have a lot of BS marketing, but they sound good.

It took me about an hour or so to design. About an hour to test (practice on acrylic before cutting the steel), and about 2 hours to cut all the hex's haha!

It’s nice but for true sq you only need 6ch of amplification Want a badass set up Get Hybrid audio Legatia L2SE midrange/tweets x2 Hybrid audio audio legatia L8Se for the doors x2 Run a hybrid audio legatia 15” sub or the 18” version Get a dsp the really good one isn’t the most expensive The audio tec Fischer dsp.3 pro is fantastic Use a jl tun max device to tune Use one 6ch us acoustics lanna amp Bridge ch 5/6 for the sub Use stinger 9000 series rca Run a 4.4mm balanced cable to rca and use a high res player as your source Don’t connect any part of your head unit to your dsp This is the most efficient effective way to have crystal clear sound. And not spend 10k on a competition system that’s simple to manage. You can pay more but I bet mine sounds better And my wallet is happy. Try it I guarantee your set up will sound so good

nah....just regular steel. Actually the regular steel gets hot when laser cutting but the stainless doesn't get very hot at all...Stainless uses nitrogen and cuts fast, Carbon steel uses oxygen and cuts slower.
