haha it really is! it's avalible on PC already, and I think PS and xbox too now if you have any of those platform I think it's worth checking out if you liked the look of it :)

Can't say I ever played Contra, however I watched a play through of AM2R (Unofficial Metroid II remake) and it definitely reminds me of that. Shame about the lack of netplay. More games should be adding that as a selling point, especially if it works cross-platform; it's what helped games like Among Us explode in popularity, but also adds re-play value.

Ah I’ve heard about that but I never played the original metroids back in the day so didn’t pay much attention. I still keep meaning to go back to the new Metroid. I was enjoying it, and they just updated it with an easy mode 😆🙈

Does the 40 lives cheat work on switch?

I haven't been able to get it working yet. I've heard people say the PC version is really fun with the 40 lives code and weapon select activated.

indeed it does, however the codes are different in the console version. The dev did provide me the cheat codes, and indeed (for me and my sub par gaming skill), the 40 lives code increased my enjoyment, but they asked I do not share the codes. Completing the game in normal difficulty mode will reveal the cheats, so I'm guessing they will be 'out there' very shortly. Once I see they are public I'll post the link here :)
