SUPER DEXTA - NEW PROJECT + french horsefair

In today's episode of farming life at la forge Mam and myself have a new project this year trying out a commercial garden to be selling at the french markets. Dad will be opening the rows with the Super Dexta. The Mam and myself are going to a local french horsefair that we have never been to be before so we will bring you around and show you

Blimey Laura, that garden is huge and boy what soil there. You see what I said about what happen to Declan when he gets on that Dexter - the big kid in him jumps out 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Flower gardening is catching on here too, there was I near here at a place called Abbotsbury and it did very well - so good luck. One thing is fore sure, you all work hard to give it your best shot. Laura, are you a chef? I remember a video of you in the kitchen, perhaps you could do the occasional episode cooking a French/Irish dish that we could show our wives. Didn’t see a horse meat stand at the horse fair ? Has that gone out of fashion over their with the younger set. I used to tell people that Salami was donkey and needless to say I put a few off eating it 🤣🤣🤣. My days of riding are behind me, but I still wish some days that I could saddle up a ride free and wild for an hour or two. Great to see the garden going in. Lovely story about the potato planter. Great to see it being put to use instead of briars growing up through it. The fair is very interesting. I know very little about horses but that black horse looked a fine animal. Looked like a draught horse. You could park the dexta if you bought him he'd till the garden for you! Great idea selling veg. Would you think of getting into poultry? Bees are another good one.

I have a 1961 fordson dexta at home, and i’m in the process of installing a cab to it. Needs a lot of welding and tweaking but i like tinkering with the limited resources that i have and when it’s all done i’ll restore the entire machine and respray the cab in imperial blue. The cab supposedly came off of a MF, it’s pretty solid but they added too much weight to the front of it. Once it’s properly supported i’m welding a floor into it and closing the back and then i’ll stay dry when driving in the rain
