The issue with the bogie screw is that the captivated washer on the screw is too large and tightens on to the bogie assembly. It should fit inside the bogie assembly and secure against the pivot which is lower down. If the screw is removed, one will see that the pivot is about 3mm lower and only a short length of the screw is inserted, thus loosening. I've corrected this on my wagons by replacing the screw and specifically the washer for one that fits into the bogie. I can now tighten the screw up properly with no risk of it loosening.

The waggons looked so good, I clicked on the KR Models link above to order some, that proved expensive as I didn't manage to buy any waggons, but I have ordered a double deck emu. I'm really looking forward to receiving it, although it might be a bit of wait.

Thanks Jenny for this review. I was one of the unfortunate people who had a wagon missing it’s loads, which is very frustrating. I’ve contacted KR, but at time of writing, have not received any replacement. My wagons paired with a 9F and Queen Mary look brilliant running on our club layout and will look even better when those missing loads arrive. The problem with the screws coming lose has been remedied with the application of a small amount of threadlock, before screwing home. When the missing loads arrive, I intend to give them all a dusting of Ore colour, using an airbrush to give the perfect finish! The detail is very good and they certainly look the part! Very pleased with my wagons, and hope the issue with the loads is remedied soon.

Once again a good review. I think you will find it was the three cylinder Q7 and not the two cylinder Q6 that was used on these ore trains, and only with eight wagons. The 9f could haul nine wagons. It's a pity that the LNER Garratt wasn't tried on these ore trains. May have been able to haul perhaps twelve to fifteen of them.

great review Jenny. I didn't see them listed on their webpage, but maybe I will get lucky enough to find a set or two on this side of the pond during a couple of the train shows.

These waggons really look at home on Wear Yard especially with the Tyne Dock connection. I hope you will be keeping/buying them, and we can get to see them running on your layout.

Really impressive. These cars give a real sense of heavy, industrial usage. The finish should take some weathering well. Because of their usage and heavy weight, these would be used as unit trains and not individually, so there isn't any reason why you couldn't replace the couplers with the supplied prototypical link chains everywhere except those at either end of the rake -- bonus!

Jenny do you model an era? Spray a matte finish on them.

I love the look of them but the quality issues would put me off buying them.
