19:29 I imagine putting tokens of some sort on the spaces in Aura of the special move "Bamf!" would be useful to remember that it blocks line of sight for those spaces, seems like otherwise I would forget. The Riftling Rogue is pretty cool though

The paladins +3 heal for potion seems to be one of the best potion effects and candy and cola's ability to give him more potions has great synergy. As others have pointed out we need a ranged character but i would also say we could use a good AOE attack. Deep root druid is a good choice but only his special has range and i don't think we need the extra healing from his potion. The ember mage is also a good choice but her AOE requires her to get into meele. Im going Glimmerdusk Ranger.

I watched your rules videos and your full playthrough. I was doing it wrong. For instance, i omitted the fact that any hero could use any other's potions anywhere, anytime, even right before being dealt damage (such as teleport). My wife now enjoys the game. Her poor heroes got pummeled mercilessly by my bad understanding of the rules. Thanks for the hints, now my game hits the table more often. Good job btw! and i love the small 8-Bit song at the start of your videos, especially the metal part. Makes me feel nostalgic of the 80's.

Be sure to check out the FAQ that Soda Pop Miniatures puts out on this game. These EXCELLENT videos are based off the rules book that comes with the base game which has been updated a few times (v1.6 is latest last I checked). one specific update in this video: RANGED EFFECTS Q: Does Missile X require you to be at least one square away from an enemy? A: No. This requirement was removed in the 1.5 pdf update of the rules to bring it in line with other Distance Effects.

I think this comes down to a very tough choice. If the spawn points are going to be setting people on fire when they get adjacent to it, do we really want yet another character who has to get in close? That being said, I was all prepared to throw in a vote for the Ember Mage... til I saw she stands at 0 right now... Hrrrm... Given that, I think the Riftling Rogue sounds very cool but I have to throw in with the one ranged character who has a chance to win this. Come on, Druid!

While the Rogue and the Barbarian are hands down my two favorite heroes, it's true that we might benefit more from having a ranged attacker. I think the Ranger is the best long range attacker in the game, but her potion is the weakest one. The Druid is also a solid choice, and it seems it's already got most of the votes anyway, so...

I first ran across your videos last week. I am super excited to be able to watch this one from the start, especially with such a fun game! I personally would use the Ranger because then Dex cards can have use while Candy could potentially use the Will for initiative. At least the Druid has a blast attack as well. Even then, his potion may be a little weakened because the Paladin has Healer anyway.

Reason I voted for the Druid was the range plus switch hitter ability. If for some reason, the Paladin is defeated or busy elsewhere when Candy and Cola needs help, the Druid can shift into the bear and buy the Paladin time to get over there or C&C time to move.

The reason I think the Druid is the best choice is simply because it causes many status effects, which would severely limit a boss monster. My backup choice would be the Sorceress because of that, but I like her status effects less.

I am going to have to vote for the druid since it has a range attack and it almost tied with the rogue. The other 2 party members are melee and having a ranged unit would be smart if people start catching fire when they move near a spawn point.

Riftling Rogue would make a good spawner killer with the teleport, can jump past the mini-boss to hit the spawn point. I think killing the spawn points is key to a quick victory.

I believe this is from the newer set, which I haven't played yet, but I did look up the rule book online, and it's shown on the back page: "DANGEROUS: May target and will affect friendly and enemy models."
