I always use old method of grinding 1:4 and rice and urad dal separate batches so i never tried this method even though i am big fan of u but suddenly i tried unbelievable results masha allah. I am wasting four years super batter

Happened to see your video. Wow! Easy and practical method you have shown. Shall definitely try it. One more item you can make with this batter- white dhokla. When batter becomes a little more sour after 3 -4 days, take some batter, grind some ginger and green chillies with a tablespoon of curd and add it it to the batter. Pour the batter on a plate and steam it like idlis. Then cut into squares or diamond shapes and give a good seasoning of oil, mustard, curry leaves and white sesame seeds. Also sprinkle some idli podi on top. It will taste yummy. A good idea for tiffin box.

I don't know how to thank you for sharing recipe . Idly and dosa came out very well . And the grinding process became so easy . Within 30 mins I finished grinding , cleaning and emptying the batter into the containers. Life saver recipe this is!!! Thanks a ton !!!!

4 1/4 cup idli rice,3/4 cup urad dal after washed add fenugreek 1s and sour for 8 hours then graind for 20 minutes after that add salt(required ) then again graind for 10 minutes ..lastly you can use that flour after 6 hours

I tried this method. It came out well. I think I added little more water and so maavu was little watery... Even then Idly was soft and if I leave it some more time in stove, it became flat. This week, will try to add right amount of water and will let you know...
