It took me a while to realize that you were doing r2 and r3 all the way around (on both sides), but once I figured it out it's going along great!! Thank you for this tutorial

💯 agree! I got so frustrated cause I thought I was doing something wrong, so I tried it with another hook and yarn to check and same thing, so I looked at the comments to see if maybe I was doing something wrong and this comment was exactly what it was. It never specified or said all the way around. Normally just the row across and not around fully. It's finally turning into a purse lol, but taking a break cause my hands hurt and it's bedtime lol.

The same happened to me. I frogged three times. Tried with a lighter yarn and suddenly, the penny dropped. Also, for me as a begginer, it would be useful if you said how many stiches at the end of each row, so I would know where to put a maker as I tend to skip stitches. Otherwise, the video is very good and I am making it as a present for my mom for christmas 2024

yes! Changing the length just involves adding more chains. I would keep it an even number just in case. If you want it taller just add more rows!
