I have done a very similar pattern to this that I made up about 40 years ago, but I am confused why in your video you show doing the first row of fans that you put the hdc's into the back loop but the next row of fans were stitched into all the loops of the previous row. I tried to look at your finished sample piece but you kept moving it around so much that it is too hard to look at closely.
