I followed this today. took 30-60 mins since I had no clue what I was doing. Worked great. I fed my wire through the hood release.

My Aveo started blowing its horn randomly one day and just took a crap and hasn’t worked since even with a new horn and relay/fuse didn’t fix the random auto horn sound. This is a great easy fix. Thanks!

I'm glad to see this video. I've had a nightmare trying to wire up the stupid horn relay. I'm just going to hard wire it in like you've done. As long as it passes the MOT 😁

It passed inspection here in North Carolina, your state may be different but it worked for me.

Hey,i love it. I did this on my 89 LeSabre years ago. Now my 2004 Century has a short in the steering pad switch, so Im going to do it again. A little neater my way,but you got er dun....lol.

I did mine the same but went through the fire wall it had a hole that I used and I went strait off the battery and a 20 amp fuse in line off the power line and it works great.

I kept failing inspection. I mean I’m not going to fix it the right way on a vehicle with 260K+ miles. Putting money into it would be silly.

@@ChrisThedudenurse Yep, totally agree with you. What I meant to say is that I would have done the exact same thing ---- "just get it working". I just got a kick at the end because after the "just get it working", a fuse was added. I'd pull out the fuse and jam tin foil in there -LOL (jk)

I honestly cannot remember. It was whatever the fuse was I think it was 10 or 12.

where did you get the black wire from? The wolo kit only came with a red wire.

Oh this was no kit. I did all this myself, most everything came from autozone.

I’m laughing my ass off we have the exact same dash/battery and everything else location placement (except for your seats) I’m not the brightest with car brands/makes and models, but I would guess an expedition is the newer or upgraded version of my truck 97 f150 XLT because that is literally my dash and console ya got hahahaha and I’m wiring my horn now!

This is the exact same thing as the F150 just with a closed in back. This is a 2000 model.

What kind of fuse? How do you know which one to use

It’s a marine 10 amp fuse. I only used that one because it’s what I had. No bigger than the draw that the horn by itself will have the 10 amp was enough.

waittt... lol so he really fucked up using the red and black wire colors what he shoulda dont was just connected the ground and positive to the horn and just told us he cut the ground wire and added each side of the switch to each end he cut. over negative to negative positive to positive and negative to the POSITIVE side of the battery lol people are gonna get all fuggered up tryna understand this one

@@ChrisThedudenurse Well, my horn on my 53 Ford goes off all the time when you wire it up and connect the battery. My neighbor who is good at wiring said that I was wiring it right, but the wire in the steering column is probably grounding inside and touching the metal, which is making it go off. It still has the original cloth wiring, which has lost its color and falls apart easily. Makes it harder to tell what is what. Haha

@@FordHoard sounds like your getting constant power to the horn but bypassing the switch or button. All it is just a circle ⭕️ with the battery being the start and end point with a switch then horn then back to the battery.
