The Price Is Right wasn't competing against any game shows then as Wheel Of Fortune was on a half hour before on NBC, the only game shows on both networks at the time (Family Feud on ABC came on after TPIR was over). By January, TPIR would go against the Wheel plus Hit Man after NBC added three new game shows to their lineup. Hit Man was gone after 13 weeks but thanks to a well devoted audience, it would take TPIR 6 1/2 years to knock off Wheel Of Fortune in which they would later adopt it for 18 more weeks before it returned back to NBC for another eight. Daytime Wheel Of Fortune was no more after September 1991.
