I have one complete metal upgrade including the pan. Plus the 12mm adapters w bigger wheels,and shock upgrades. My father used to be sponsored to race RC back in the olden days, but retired from that many years ago. For fathers day I bought him the regular A959 (not the B version) and he enjoys it a lot! Goes to show you can still enjoy these inexpensive "almost hobby grade" vehicles! Also, I love how it just randomly says "headphones" on the side... WL toys is legendary for that kind of hilarity ;)

Just slap some 1/10 scale tires, decent swing arms, and balance the oil in the shocks, maybe shorten the ones in the front. Oh, and remember to adjust your toe in and camber. You knw, the basic kind of things you should always do with a new car when you get it outta the box?
@Boogie_the_cat4 күн бұрын
You want toe in on the rear and toe out in front. No toe in on the front Also, no adjustable camber on a WLToys.

The main issue with these is they have an insane amount of toe out. It makes them nearly uncontrollable. Change it to a hint of toe in and the car will track straight as an arrow. (As long as the road is smooth, bumpy roads will send it everywhere) All you need is an adjustable/turnbuckle style steering link. I used some ball cup style 1/10 touring car one and they fit it perfectly. Your local hobby shop probably can sort you out. Ebay has kits for 10-15$

Small crazy fast cars are really fun! The down side with allot of them is they have a lot of slop in the steering, causing them to not really be able to be trimmed. You just kind of have to live with it. Some are better than others, but regardless its all fun. :) Bigger is better for handling though. Once I got my 1/10 scale short course truck, I really started to notice these problems with smaller cars.

OOOOOOOH The # of wires -1 = how many cells... I never knew that! I love lessons! "Nathan this is why I drive!!!!!!!!!!!" This makes the BLOOPER REEL!!!!!!!!! "I'm all about driving in puddles Nathan!" "Hey it didn't go in the water!" Where is the hill-climb challenge? "We have to keep re-trimming." In defense, you kept wrecking lol. Is this the first time we have had a difference of opinion on a review from Nate & Abby? Abby loves the pure adrenaline speed rush and the crazy spins and flips this RC does. She can ignore the utter lack of control and"craziness" as Nate puts it. Nate feels that it has several negatives (especially at full throttle "Every time you go full throttle you are guaranteed to crash"). Re-trimming takes a lot of the fun out of it... Nate was wrong on the battery life too! SPEED RULES IN ABBY'S WORLD!

A 540 brushed in an 1/18 scale is crazy. What would be crazier is to drop a 3650 / 4800kv brushless in it. Then attached wings and fpv cam. Good to go. If the radio has a throttle gain adj, then that would help a lot. Maybe swap out to programmable radio. Love this review. Reminds me of watching my kids drive. :-)

I have one of these and it is a blast to drive but mine died because I hit a puddle, It's most defiantly not waterproof. Parts are easy to get and cheap I ordered a replacement ESC for about $6 the shipping cost was more than the part. once I get mine running again I'm going to try upgrading the servo and replace some of the plastic front steering parts with metal to hopefully make it a little bit more controllable. I'm still with Abby this thing is fun to drive if you want more control run it slower or replace the motor with one for the original a959 which had a smaller motor or just buy the A959 instead of the A959-B.

Chris Chronos I bought one after watching this video too. If you look at your front wheels you'll notice these cars have a a ton of toe out as delivered. It makes them virtually uncontrollable. Get adjustable steering links and change it too a hint of toe in and they will go straight and not dart all over the place the moment you try to accelerate. It's really that simple.

I have the Carrera PROFI series of this model. Idk if they did some tweeks to their model but it drives so much better then WLTOYS.

I have the car myself and the overall best upgrade for it is let the liposuction battery soak in battery acid works dream and also replacing 1 of ur rear tire with the tire on the remote just stick a knife in it and pry it just pops off
