58 redstone dust
13 observers
17 sticky pistons
4 regular pistons
19 glass

About two stacks of blocks

What’s the purpose of the line of pistons at the very top that push the bottom sand out of the way? I took them out and it still works fine

Sometimes it will work sometimes it won’t. It’s a lag safety guard. It the sand falls with the pistons it might glitch out sometimes.

Do you know the exact amount of each block I need and how many blocks deep the Redstone goes cause I’m doing this in survival

What would the repeater ticks be for one thats 5 blocks high?

Unfortunately it’s not that simple. Adding another layer requires a lot more circuitry. I have a design for it, but am unable to make tutorials right now. It may come out in the next few weeks

If you want to do 3 wide 4 high, then yes, just remove one of the two middle piston layers and keep the same design. If you want it the other way around it won’t work

I made mine 5 wide and there doesn't seem to be any problems except for when I open the door 2 sand blocks break in the fifth column. I'm guessing it has something to do with tic speed being off. Is their any way to fix this problem?

Hmm… I’ll look into it. It probably has to do with signal strength running out since you made it one wider. I’ll try to build it and give you a solution

I built it in my testing world and it seemed to work fine. All I did was extend the redstone lines, observers, and pistons one more block out, and then moved the far side of the circuit one block over. Make sure you extended the topmost pistons(the ones the block the sand from falling early) as well, or the sand will fall early and break.

Yes, you can move the lever. But, you have to move the redstone line under it too. If you are going to do this make sure the redstone line does not interfere with any other component of the door

My fourth row of pistons don't get pulled down by sticky pistons so it leaves a one block high row at the top. Fix??

I’ll look into it. For now check the left side of the door circuit(later part of the video) and make sure all repeater timings are correct.

Uh mine just straight up doesnt work, ive tried 8 times to rebuild and fix and each time it has diffrent results, none of wich having success

I cant tell what I did wrong, but half of the door doesnt work. Randomly any of the 4 sections of pistons wont go back down. Each time I run the door its never consistent of which pistons break

How do i make the door close slower

Due to the nature of the door, in the only way to make it close slower would be to add repeaters between your activation source(lever/button) and the main door circuit. This would also make it open slower.

Glass doesn’t conduct a redstone signal. If you put redstone on top of a normal block, and power the redstone, all the components around the block will also be powered. Glass does not do this, making it safe to put components around.

Hmm… did you build the top part of the circuit(the pistons that stop the sand from falling)? If so it may be a lag issue, because it is still working fine on my end. Sorry for the trouble.

@@ColonelS yea I did and don't be sorry they just made a stupid change to gravity blocks. It still works I just gotta replace the top blocks sometimes. (And it probably is partially lags fault)
