Always at least one tube will gush everywhere when opened, it’s mandatory! 😂 I love your little homemade palette. Old tins are the best, and it’s nice to give them a new purpose.❤️ Interesting mixes!

I like your tin palettes. I bought several eye shadow palettes at the dollar tree when it was a dollar. It is a name brand of eye shadow that holds twelve colors. I removed the eye shadow, cleaned it well, filled it wc paints, and then decorated the top of the lids with washi tape. They make cute travel palettes. I have done the same with the metal mint candy holders. I like your volcano paints. The mixes you made with your paints are beautiful.

This probably took a while but I'm sure it's so worth it! I don't have many paints so it wouldnt take me long but the whole pigment part of it would take me the longest. I'm trying to learn more about pigments and have foundany different brands call the same pigment different names which is confusing especially for a newbie such as myself. I want to try this but I need to find a little tin or something like that. I love the desert brown you made... just gorgeous!

I did mixes with Qor's Viridian with both Volcano Yellow and Red and it was GLORIOUS. Qor's version is stronger than any other PG18 viridian I've seen and it worked so well. The red/green looks just like Schmincke's Desert Green which was my favorite of this set of colors so I'm tickled that I can mix it from what I have. Volcano red also mixes really interestingly with PB60, the salt reaction is epic.

I love this! It's so fun and educational to watch! I'll come back after buying more paint and pause it to see what you have written down. I do better at writing everything down. Thank you for sharing! 😊

Trade! 11ml tube Van Gogh Black oxide PBk11 arriving from Amazon Mar 4-11. On Kim's list of favorite single pigment. Granulation finer than DS Lunar Black. You do video that shows how you get your swatch cards for palettes so darn straight! My water color nemesis.

I like the little tin palette and the cat at the end, not bothering to get up when petted. I really would like to see these granulating colours in action, in a painting. Hard to judge with only the swatch. Have a great week, Miranda. See you on Friday

I love all those custom colors you created, what great suggestions. I used to love my Daniel smith granulating colors but I have been gravitating away from them to more non granulating paints lately. What a great idea to spray that tiny tin and turned out great, can't wait for the painting using these :)

Fun video! It's funny, after we chatted in comments about if cadmiums are granulating, I noticed M. Graham lists their Cad Yellow Light as being granulating (although I wouldn't have said that...) And their Viridian is the best one on the market, because it's got the most pigment & rewets easily. Schmincke pours their own pans in layers, btw! I should try adding some glycerine to my MG white gouache and see if that helps the re-wet. I have a Van Gogh PBk 11 in my cart at Blick, but I keep meaning to use up my Hematite first.

ive been eying the volcano yellow and red for a WHILE bc theyre quite unique (or for the pr108, at least uniquely granulating) but they seem to be not shippable everywhere online - but recently ive been to a bigger art store in person , bc we dont have one in my city, and they had ALL the super granulation colors in tubes 🤤 i live in germany, so i expected them to have most of schminckes colors of course, but having the abilty to buy the super granulation colors in tubes instead of sets made me very happy! in hindsight i wish i had bought a blue as well, but to be fair i do have a few granulating blues already, so... i already spend a bit too much money there haha...but yeah, great video, literally perfect timing for me! :D

Every time you mention "prodigal son" I think you're jokingly referring to one of your kids. I love making my own palettes. And Schmincke pours like a dream into pans. Smooth.....

Hi, again Miranda! Yes, I did begin to watch this when you first released it, but for some reason, left it half way! Anyway, I've just watched it again all the way through, and loved your excitement - it matched mine when I did them with PBk11. Almost all of my 38 were ordinary paints, with only the French Ultra (PB29), Cerulean (PB35) Cobalt blue (PB74) and Burnt Umber (PY42) as granulating, though Cad red (PR108) does very slightly. The problem with that is its fade shift on drying, which may be less of a problem in a PBk11 mix... .But every one of those 38 made glorious granulating mixes, as you saw.
