Thanks for the shout out Zach! A non-belt version is already on the way for those that are interested.

Ordered and waited lead time website stated takes to ship. Company does not respond to emails or answer phone. Had to file PayPal claim. Superguide immediately sent order cancellation email but have yet to refund payment

@@GearGarageTV All’s good. Not your fault. I used to run a small biz building highly custom fishing rod a few years ago and can understand the struggle with meeting demand . Art takes time. BUT you have to be real with people, no matter how good the product, and this is where Franz @Super Guide Gear is falling short. If it takes 6 months to receive the custom good then that needs to be communicated. Don’t put an unrealistic expectation in people’s minds. Then you fail. And no business should cold shoulder a request for info no matter the circumstance. I closed down my biz because it became overwhelming as a side gig. I’d recommend he do the same and just build for friends. It’s unethical to take orders and money knowing can’t meet demand. Shut ‘er down.

Love to see this quality review. I'm shopping for throw bags right now. Great video!

@@GearGarageTV also, as for personal thoughts on waist bags, I R2 a lot when not guiding commercially, and if we flip, I would want both of us to have fast access to a rope. You climb up on the upside down boat, and you have 1 person to rescue. Flipping the boat is probably not first priority like it might be in a commerical flip, because two experienced guides are better of back on an upside down boat fast. I'm gonna be getting super guide bags for my wife and I, but I also really love the holster design of the SolGear and WWTC bags. They are super neat and clean, and can be reliably accessed with one hand. Again, great video, and I hope to see more gear reviews from you!

@@wadebieber5717 Why do you need quick access to a rope when you flip? Aren't throw bags usually thrown from shore?

Bought one of these a month ago after seeing this video. The company has been completely unresponsive and i have not gotten my bag. It's super disappointing when you go off a glowing endorsement from someone and the company just lets you down...

I also am not a fan of things around my waist. Definitely like to clip it to the boat
@GearGarageTV5 жыл бұрын
I also prefer clipping to a boat based on the type of boating I do. People that paddle rivers and use throw bags often swear by the waist belt throw bags.

I sent money for a throw bag and never received it, also no response from company after a lot of emails. No refund either. But thank you for your videos. I spoke to the dude from super guide when designing the bag, he seemed cool. Not sure what happened.

Same. Purchased. Fully Paid in March with 2 day shipping on an "in stock" item; and never received. Still says awaiting processing on their website. I've reached out (via several ways) as well, and no response.

I could say so much. Some stuff you said was awesome. Working on grade 4/5 rivers around the world having a waist bag is a requirement on some rivers. I get in the river and swim around a fair amount just to test my gear. Never been Bag entrapped plus there is a quick release on mine. Recently I was told about Super Guide bags and wanted to learn more. Your video is the only one I found. Seems this bag has 3 key factors. The pocket, the waist belt and the quick open. You totally skipped over showing how the open works. I need a close up and more details. I also want to know how the belt is setup. Maybe add a second video review. Cheers

Thank you for the nice comment and suggestions. The closure is pretty cool but I don't quite understand how it works yet.

Hey Daniel that's probably my job. This coming season is going to be our first real year I'll get more media up about the bags. I'm still learning how to transition from being an injured guide to a broke/n business owner. As for the clip, it's magnetic, it will only release when pulled in one direction but will re-attach itself from any angle. Here's a video kzbin.info/www/bejne/m4Kud5l_prhmsKc The belt has a heavy duty cam buckle to release the bag, and side release buckle up front. I'm not going to lie I took the design from the AU Big Water belt i had in Australia, I changed it up a little so it would stay tight all day and had less webbing of questionable use to a guide. The pocket is where the rope exits the bag to attach to a system. There is a small loop (the end of a follow-through figure 8) of rope within to attach a carabiner which can be left in the pocket if you wish. Send an email through the site if you have any more questions or want to see any more photos. You can also check out www.instragram.com/superguidegear Thanks, - Franz

@@superguidegear3085 I just had a look at the release video. Looks like the very same thing Palm uses. I found after tossing the bag a couple times and pulling it back in Black Sand had collected and jammed up the clasp totally preventing it from locking shut again.
@superguidegear30855 жыл бұрын
Hey @Daniel Jenkins that's correct, it is a Fidlock magnetic enclosure. Likely the same exact model as Palm uses. They're getting bigger in gear and you can find them on some of Smith and Sweet's highest end helmets. I can definitely see them getting inundated with ferrous material but am surprised that it happened so quickly. We tested it on the flooded granite slab of the Headwaters of the Kern, after 7 days of non-stop use the bag had metal filings that made it more difficult to use. I took a towel and wiped the filings out and it was good as new. That being said I could imagine a river with black sand containing way more ferrous material being a problem. What river were you on? I've been thinking of offering a standard snap version of the bag but haven't heard any stories like this. Definitely interested to hear more, thanks for your input.

@@superguidegear3085 I am working on the Shotover in New Zealand. With just a toss or two into the river i could no longer close the holder. We use ropes a lot here. Running up and down the bank and getting into rafts real fast to chase swimmers, I do not have the time to wipe ferrous metals out after every use. People could get hurt or die. I have a snap on my current waist bag. It has held up a few years now.
