I've asked the last couple of times he put one of these out. No reply. I'm thinking this is older content that he is publishing. Hoping we get back to some more frequent and fresh content. His videos are among my favorites. Notice we aren't seeing a lot of John's World either. Bummer. I signed up for the channel subscription 5 months ago hoping for some extra content......not a single livestream. Feels a little like he's juggling whether all the headache is worth the effort. I know it's a lot of work. I couldn't do it. I enjoy the video poker too much to be bothered with filming and editing. Plus he has a family and a business.

@@cjmary I don't even care about denomination. All I ever play is quarters. No one is making a living off of VP winnings. I guess the niche isn't big enough to sustain profitability in the VLOG market. VP players are a pretty small community, comparatively speaking, in the gaming world.

So, I'm not sure what's going on. You weren't on forever and then you start this video with your winnings at $27,000..LOL? Okay, well I wanted to ask you how do you track and confirm your losses for the I.R.S? I just did my taxes and had to say no to my losses when I won $6,000 in jackpots in 2022. I assumed Win/Loss statements are useless nowadays.
@Viewer20232 жыл бұрын
You can write off gambling losses up to the extent of your winnings (what you received in W2G's), on Schedule A "Itemized Deductions," but it only makes sense to do so if your overall deductions are more than your standard deduction. I keep an excel spreadsheet tracking when I gambled, and what my wins or losses were. This does not get transmitted to the IRS at tax time, you just want to have a log if you ever get audited (you can always "create" a log later if you haven't been doing it). You also have records of ATM/bank withdrawals on your bank statements that you can use to show losses.

@@Viewer2023 So, Katie I'm single with no deductions. Would it be more of an advantage to get the taxes taken out when I hit a jackpot right then and there? If I do that do I have to claim that as added income at the end of the year?
@Viewer20232 жыл бұрын
@@terryb5803 The standard deduction for a single person for the 2023 tax year is $13,850. That means you would have to hit more than $13,850 this year in jackpots to make it worthwhile to itemize deductions. I don't know what level player you are. Do you usually hit more than that? If you do, I would not have taxes withheld because you know that you can write it off at the end of the year. If you don't expect to hit more than that, I would go ahead and have taxes withheld on the jackpots you win so that you don't have a big hit at the end of the year. Then, if you DO happen to go over the$13,850 amount, you'll want to go ahead and itemize deductions, and the taxes that you had withheld will be credited back.
@Viewer20232 жыл бұрын
I want to add on that whether or not you do or don't have taxes withheld on your jackpots, any all income you receive on W2G's has to be claimed as income. You have to claim all of it. One time I had over 30 W2G's and forgot to claim the income on one of them, and the IRS caught it.

You keep holding unmatched high cards of different suits giving you zero chance at a royal. Pick one and hope for the other four cards to the royal on the draw! It happens! Sometimes you even throw away a matching 10, you need those!
@ligafftheindifferent34952 жыл бұрын
Do you have any clue how one goes about learning VP. You get a mathematically correct strategy from a program. Many are available. Hands like KsQc8h7h4d come up all the time. Aside from wild card games, you ALWAYS hold the KsQc. The reason should be obvious to anyone with a functioning brain.... You make a lot more high pairs when you hold KQ. To be sure, the RF pays more, but it is super, super rare. The RF only pays 800 for 1. But if you hold the two high cards, you will make so much more back than the rare Royal. The math is a bit messy,, but the concept is simple. The computer simply looks at every possible draw to a hand and determines which one does better ON AVERAGE.
@timz.40002 жыл бұрын
@@ligafftheindifferent3495 a bit of personal insulting. However, holding a KsQc denies you of seeing what the 4th card off the deck is, you are now drawing only 3 cards. I get that you want to at least break even on that hand, but the card you need to break even may be the 4th card off the deck. The hand i noticed at 15:01 he holds JcQs and discards the 10c, that ain't cool! 14:44 throws 3 to a straight flush. I want him to win!
@billslim92672 жыл бұрын
@@timz.4000 You really need to read a Video Poker book. Different games of vp have different holds. You will go broke fast playing large denom with your strategy.
@logicalmisery3737 Жыл бұрын
Clueless comment. When you play according to best mathematical expected return, you win more money letting you play more hands giving you more chances at a big win. Playing your dumb way likely would cost you more than what a royal is worth before you hit. Not a good look to spout advice when you're wrong.
