The Fortin Nameless has a really unique glassy sound that ironically reminds me of the mesa mark series especially with two gain nobs and optionally two boost pedals this gives you so much influence on the gain structure🖤 The omega is a good amp but has no unique functions even the switchable mid focus reminds me of Engl Powerball and many other amps have it to. Until Neural is going to model a mesa mark V or IIC+ or JP-IIC i guess I won’t find anything I like better. Just please Neural: Add a graphic EQ to the nameless!!!

This is one of the best comparison videos I’ve ever seen! Thank you! I love how you gave us 4 tones to listen to to help us compare and I love how you explained the process. Some constructive feedback: I noticed that your riffs kept it interesting but I would have liked to hear the same riffs on each amp (even with different irs) they were always similar but for example at 14:05 the riffs here for the omega have a sweet repeated bounce-palm mute thing on one of the low strings and we never got to hear that on the Fortin and several my ears wanted to compare small hooks like that but couldn’t. No big deal. :) Thanks again for the great video!

Awesome demo Keyan. Based on the internal cab section, id go with the Nameless, hands down. Damn, this thing bites. With the external cab, the battle is much closer tho. The Granophyre has a better tonal balance i think, with a smoother high end.

They both sound great. To me it sounds like a difference in taste or genre. The Fortin is based on a Marshall while the Omega sounds like it’s based on a Boogie styled amp. I’ve owned rectifiers and JCM’s and they’re all great, just at different tasks.

The Omega with the external cab was my favourite. although I don't think the Omega worked that well for the big open chords. ITs a very dark sounding plugin which i enjoy and really suits my playing. There's something magical that happened with the Nameless. The OG. They just got it right outta the gate. After owning the Nolly, NTS and Nameless for a few years now, the Nameless still wins for ripping 7 string riffage. Wish it was updated with a delay or reverb, but I can just add a touch of that in my DAW. Nameless if you want toight riffage, Nolly if you want versatility and atmospheric effects, NTS is you're a more rock based player. Excellent video and tutorial!

Dude, when I tried this plug in my brain just explodes! Each built-in preset sounds amazing! I bought Abasi by Neural on black Friday, after trying others for neural JST, Tonality etc. I started to think that this one can defeat Abasi and if I really need another one. I only tweaks the abasi until I was close to the preset that I liked the most in Omega, and I managed to like Abasi even more. Both are stupendous. But Abasi really serves me better because it is more versatile.

Abasi is more versatile, but they all sound great!

I love Abasi too and did the same thing now that Neural sent out new trial licenses. I've dialing in the sickest rhythm tone I can and then seeing if I can match it with Abasi. Most of the time I go back and like the Abasi sound better. I am actually really happy with the rhythm tones I get out of it. But I have found that I can match the Granphyre's EQ but not the crunchiness of it that gives it that bit of extra aggressive-ness. The distortion is too smooth and full (not a bad thing). I can get Abasi to sound closer to the Nameless, even though the Nameless is also slightly more aggressive. Not a big enough difference to justify the extra money. The Granophyre on the other hand, seems like it's far enough outside of the Abasi realm to make it worth getting as a complimentary rhythm amp

Your videos are some of the absolute best and most informative on KZbin by far. I’m absolutely torn on which plugin to actually buy-I just got the GGD Zilla cabs and have dialed in some really good tones with the Abasi and the Nameless free trials that I’m liking a lot so far. I’m going to try the Omega and the Nolly ones sometime this week (I surprisingly didn’t like the NATAS at all, I was honestly pretty disappointed by the sound of it with the external IR). From this video, the Fortin sounds better by itself, and the Omega sounds better with the external IR to me so I’ll have to try out both on my own songs to see what sounds better. To my ears, Omega sounds bigger (apparently only 6L6s in this video) while Fortin cuts through and focuses in a more kind of forward attitude. I if only had to pic just one of them I would go Omega, since it will give a bit more variety of sounds while producing tracks (not doing kilotons of gain ALL the time) and Omega can def. get tighter and punchier with a bit of tweakage. That said, Fortin is a no brainer for straight up aggressive stuff, no doubts. I'm really grateful for your video dude, pretty sweet stuff! Subscribed!

Did a shootout between the two on Logic last night, and tbh the Nameless still blows me away even after a year. Even with the stock impulses, there's just something about its gain structure that sits so nicely in a mix when double and quad tracked. The clarity, punch, sizzle, and brutality is unreal when tuned low. With that said I love the meaty grunt of the Omega, I just prefer the slicing tone of the Nameless.
@Silhouette874 жыл бұрын
I really wish I preferred the tone of something like the Abasi, Nolly or Plini over the Nameless since they are more versatile and tweakable but for metal rhythm nothing beats the punch of the Nameless. I've tried different impulse responses with all of them but the Nameless just sounds sooo good stock.

Great comparison, and I also appreciate the level of detail you went into regarding your signal chain. I downloaded the trial for the Granophyre, and I have to say I was wildly unimpressed. While I am sure someone will find a great use for it, to me it sounded like it was overflowing with harsh digital whitenoise fizziness. However, I was also surprised by just how much your external IR tamed some of that, as I would have expected the included IR's to be optimal for that amp sim. I may have to load it back up before the trial expires and see if an external IR is the little bit of magic I need to get a tone I enjoy out of it. At this point though, I can't see a purchase in the foreseeable future.

Just tried out the Granophyre. Yes it sounds very good and plug-ins is getting better and better all the time but it still can't compete with real tube amps. Probably its not the purpose either but so many are playing guitar through the plug-ins and doesn't own a real amplifier but i'm kinda old school for that kind of things. A real amp just has that feel when you plug your guitar in what softwares can't never do :) Plug-ins are much cheaper though but i rather save to real amp.

@@KeyanHoushmandLive Thanks for that! Having spent a couple of weeks AB-ing the two in a mix with a bit of processing I'm even more undecided! Veering towards the Nameless - like you, just love that raw brutality. The Granophyre is easy to sit in a mix, but doesn't seem to respond to post processing quite as well, whereas if you stick the Nameless through a slightly characterful compressor it really lifts but 'flattens' the brutality and it sits beautifully. The Granophyre is nice, but a bit more 'sophisticated' sound - somehow smoother and a bit more cultured - hence why I like the Nameless! But as you very rightly said, they are both amazing and it's just a matter of personal taste as to what you're going for. Keep up the good work - love your channel

Omega Granophyre sounds fuller and more balanced. But you can get very saturated sounds with it too: kzbin.info/www/bejne/l2fOnWB-h56rkNk

Oi! With the sale going on, which of the Neural's suites do you recommend the most for heavier stuff, like black and progressive metal? 6 and 8 string, but no djent.

Hey Keyan. Can it be known what pickups do you use for your Jacksons?

Granophyre is the first plugin that I didn't buy from Neural, don't get me wrong it's great, but between Nameless, Fortin NTS, and all 3 Archetypes I have all my needs covered and really don't need another option. It sound so dope though I kind of want to buy it for the sake of it.

Ambos tienen diferentes usos, nameless for low tunings works best and Omega for more low ends. También hice un demo del Omega, esta brutal!
