I love that you're showing love for our OGs! Ageism in Kpop (well, the world in general really) is so unnecessary, talent doesn't have an age limit! Super Junior are legends not just for their immense talents but also for being absolute clowns. They definitely aren't afraid to make fun of themselves, they've been doing variety shows from their inception so they're used to laughing at themselves and just having a good time. As for Heechul's involvement, he severely injured his leg after a car accident in 2006 and it's gotten worse over time so he doesn't really perform much; he only comes out for one verse of a song usually. He almost left the group but Donghae convinced him to stay, so it's safe to say Super Junior is a real family. I mean they've been together for over 15 years now! House Party probably wouldn't have been my first choice for a SuJu first ever reaction, though it is a fun song. I agree, it didn't need the middle part, but because it's like a Covid PSA I give it a pass lol. Super junior has got some of the strongest vocalists in kpop. But we only got to see a little bit of yesung showing off his skills. They're insane. Specially KRY (Kyuhyun, Ryeowook, Yesung) wish we get to see more reactions to super junior. They are my first kpop group that i hardly stanned. I got to know them in 2010. And i've been an ELF since then. They're so divers, talented and as you said self aware. Legends!

Thanks for this reaction! Suju can and has done serious concepts, they have wonderful ballads because of their great vocals, but they're known as the "fun group", so they get a lot of upbeat main tracks and lots of MC jobs. The anti-aging thing with some fans is very annoying, particularly because the younger artists they are fans of respect the older artists and look up to them. Sigh. I refuse to believe that's most people though, only a handful of loud ones (also, yes, women in the industry get it worse). I hope you react to Suju again in the future :)

Super Junior's "House Party" is one of the biggest quarantine anthems ever produced. All about dreaming of a world where we will someday be able to get back to some of the "normal" things we all miss. LOL But that only will happen if we keep wearing our masks and social distancing. That's SuJu for you, taking a PSA and turning it into a hit song. :D I can't believe that was actually a central theme to the song, and yet it doesn't surprise me either. Fun fact: If you read the words on the top of the cake that Ryeowook brought to the party, it says "Everlasting Friends." E.L.F., or Everlasting Friends, is Super Junior's fandom. Believe it or not, this MV is also tied into SM's Universe and it is connected to EXO's, SuperM's, aespa's, NCT's, etc. storyline. (You can see references to this MV in aespa's most recent comeback for "Next Level.") Just another example of how everything SM does is connected. And, of course, the vocals are insane, Super Junior is an OG group from SM Entertainment, so you shouldn't expect any less. Plus, Super Junior has the 3 best vocalists -- Kyuhyun, Ryeowook and Yesung (The guy at the end with the red hair) -- who make up the sub-unit Super Junior-K.R.Y. Super Junior-K.R.Y. is the industry's very first sub-unit and they are a ballad unit who have an unbelievable vocal range. Kyuhyun, Ryeowook and Yesung are the vocal standard in the industry, who set the bar that all other vocalists are measured against. But as an SM group, all the members of Super Junior are amazing singers -- even their rappers have been known to fill in as a main vocalist on occasion. Super Junior knows exactly what they are doing. They haven't been in the industry for this long without being experts at reinventing themselves and coming up with something new and innovative with every comeback. Super Junior debuted Nov. 6, 2005, and this is their 10th full length album Renaissance. This song is part of their 15th anniversary celebration. "Raining Spell for Love" -- a remake of a B-side track from their "Mamacita" album from 2014 -- "Melody" -- their fan tribute song -- and "Burn The Floor" were the first songs released from the album, which were all released several months prior to this, the release date for this album was delayed because of the pandemic. After more than 15 years, Super Junior has done pretty much every genre of music. SuJu are never afraid to experiment with their sound or style and they are known for coming up with original concepts and setting trends. And because the group is so diverse, with so many unique members (at their peak they had 15 members), this allows them to be able to do almost anything. They are the founders of the Hallyu Wave for a reason. There is almost nothing in the Kpop industry that SuJu hasn't had a hand in creating. Their discography also includes several repackaged albums, as well as a multitude of mini albums. Plus, they have 5 sub-units -- Super Junior-K.R.Y. (made up of Kyuhyun, Ryeowook and Yesung -- SJ's main vocalists), Super Junior-D & E (made up of Donghae and Eunhyuk), Super Junior-T (Trot -- which is like a cross between the equivalent of western old-style country music and cabaret music. It's older-style Korean pop music that's all about being kind of cheesy, fun and over the top.), Super Junior-M (Mandarin Chinese) and Super Junior-H (Happy). And they have 13/12 members in total, and most of them also have solo tracks and albums. So yes, they have plenty of songs to check out, as well as numerous live performances and concert footage. Super Junior was the first group to ever hold 100 concerts back in 2014, and there have been dozens more since then. So, I don't think you will run out of Super Junior things to watch for a very long time. LOL Super Junior has their own record label -- Label SJ -- which is under SM Entertainment, but also more independent, so they are able to collaborate with other Kpop artists outside of SM Entertainment and even non-Kpop artists such as Latin artists like REIK and Leslie Grace. Super Junior members range in age from 38-31.That's why they have a more mature and classy look and feel to their most recent MVs and songs and that's why you often see them dressed in suits. They are all men, not boys. LOL But as you will soon discover, they are one of the most unique groups when it comes to the dynamics of the members personalities -- they truly are fun, crazy, over the top and aren't afraid to just let their freak flag fly when they interact with each other. They truly are a group of brothers that have been together for so many years that nothing is off limits and they don't hide their true selves from the cameras. LOL SJ are legends in the industry and they have paved the way for almost everything you see in the Kpop industry today. They set the standard for how Kpop is promoted around the world. They are also the first group to have serious roles in all the other entertainment industries -- setting the standard on how a Kpop star branches out into all parts of the industry. They are not only singers and dancers but members are musicians, composers, songwriters, lyricists, music and video producers, TV and movie actors, stage actors, models, radio DJs/ hosts, variety show hosts/MCs, authors, etc. Pretty much anything we think of as a standard part of the Kpop industry was created because of them. They were the first Kpop group to have non-Korean members, the first group to have dedicated sub-units and the first Kpop group to have a sub-unit that focused on producing songs in Mandarin for the Chinese audience.

For those who may not know a lot about Super Junior, to help you understand how influential and epic Super Junior are: The group was originally created to be a "project group" which meant that SM Entertainment originally put the group together with members who had all different talents within the entertainment industry, as well as singing and dancing. When the group was created they were considered the super rookies of the company so they were given the name Super Junior '05. The original purpose of the group was for the members to get more experience in all aspects of the entertainment industry while they also worked as singers and dancers. For example, Shindong and Eunhyuk were supposed to be training as comedians and hosts, Siwon was an actor, etc. (That is why the members of Super Junior are involved in all aspects of the entertainment industry today.) The original plan was that after about 3 to 6 months, when their company decided the members had gained enough experience, the individual members would graduate from the group and form other groups or move on to other careers within the entertainment industry, etc. and new members would be added to the group. However, Super Junior gained a very large and vocal Korean fandom even before they debuted, and when the fans heard about SM's plan to have the members of Super Junior leave the group, the fans got together and demanded that SM allow Super Junior to stay together. With large scale protests and purchasing enough shares of SM stocks, fans became voting members of SM Entertainment's board of directors and were able to force SM to promise that Super Junior would become a permanent group. E.L.F. (Ever Lasting Friends -- SJ's fandom) are some of the most loyal and vocal of all Kpop fans. Plus, I think one reason why fans were so upset about Super Junior '05's concept was the fact that the members of Super Junior were actually part of a larger group of trainees who the fans had watched go through an elimination process. The members who "made it" where the 5 members who originally became the members of TVXQ, and the members who formed Super Junior '05 were the "castoffs." But fans had already formed a bond with ALL the trainees, so they were upset that the other members who "didn't make it" (Super Junior members) might eventually disappear from the spotlight, etc. When Super Junior first debuted on Nov 6, 2005, they had 12 members, but 6 months later Kyuhyun was added to the group to officially make them a 13 member group. Then in 2008, SM created the industry's very first Mandarin Chinese sub-unit designed to bring Kpop to the Chinese market and they added 2 new members to Super Junior (Zhoumi and Henry) and Super Junior officially became a 15 member group. Henry is Chinese/Taiwanese-Canadian and Zhoumi is native Chinese. However, Zhoumi and Henry were only allowed to be members of Super Junior-M. So, Super Junior is a 13 member group + 2 (Super Junior-M) members. So, technically, Super Junior was "originally" a 15 member group. However, in the same way that the Korean ELF supported Super Junior and forced SM to make them a permanent group, in 2008 when SM announced the addition of Henry and Zhoumi and the creation of Super Junior-M, Korean fans protested yet again. But this time they were against adding any new members to Super Junior. So the Korean fans forced SM, this time, to agree to only make Henry and Zhoumi members of Super Junior's Mandarin sub-unit (they needed more Chinese members to make the Chinese sub-unit work), and they were not allowed to be included in anything to do with the main group of Super Junior. Then in 2010, Hangeng (The industry's very first non-Korean member of a Kpop group -- he was Chinese) and Kibum left the group and Super Junior became an 11 member group + 2 (Super Junior-M) members. In 2018 Henry left SM Entertainment, but he never officially left Super Junior. Now, before someone says "Henry is not a part of Super Junior any more," I want to point out that it has never officially been said that Henry has left Super Junior. Yes, he left SM when his contract was up after 10 years, to start his own independent company, but that doesn't necessarily mean he left the group. So many true fans are holding out hope that this means he still may collaborate with SJ on projects in the future. (He is still living and working in Korea and he is still in contact with all the SJ members, etc.) After all, the 3 members of Girls Generation who left SM have said they would like to do something similar in the future. All three members of Girls Generation have said just because they left SM, doesn't mean they left the group.That's why when Girls Generation made their most recent comeback they did it as a sub-unit Oh!GG, because they weren't the full group. And even Taecyeon from 2PM left JYP Entertainment, but his new company has partnered with JYP to allow Taecyeon to continue activities with 2PM. And Ravi from VIXX left JellyFish Entertainment, but he has continued activities with his group. So, it looks more promising all the time that if Henry ever wanted to do something with SJ again, he could. After all, Henry is one of Lee SooMan's (SM's) favorite people. (Even though SM may have never allowed Henry to reach his full potential under them, which is part of the reason why he left the company. But I don't think there was any bad blood between them when he left, and he has always been one of SM's most prized artists for the amount of talent he has.) Then in 2019, KangIn officially left Super Junior, and now they have 10 members + 2 (Super Junior-M) members. However, currently they have 9 active members. Sungmin decided to take a hiatus from the group in 2017 because of Korean fans' protest over him getting married. And now after almost 4 years, even though he had his solo debut in 2019, he has still not done any activities with Super Junior. Zhoumi renewed his contract with SM in 2018, so he is still an "active" member of Super Junior, however, because of the political issues between China and Korea, Zhoumi had not done anything with Super Junior for almost 6 years. However, Zhoumi released a new song "I'll Be There" in 2020 with SM, and more specifically, under Super Junior's label -- Label SJ -- and it features Kun and Xiaojun from WayV. And, even more exciting, is the fact that, for the first time in a long time, Zhoumi was back in Korea and he actually worked with Super Junior again. Zhoumi and Ryeowook (one of SuJu's main vocalists and a member of Super Junior-M) released a new song in 2020 called "Starry Night" and it has a Korean and Chinese version. Zhoumi is an actor, model, author, lyricist and songwriter/producer, etc. in China. If it wasn't for all the political issues he probably would have been in Korea working with Super Junior this whole time. But because he is only a member of Super Junior-M and they aren't active right now because they are unable to promote in China, Zhoumi has been doing other things with his career. So, as you can see, depending on the time period you will see a wide fluctuation in the number of members who are included in each of their songs, MVs and activities. Because they have such a large group with such a wide range of ages, the number of members have fluctuated over the years as the members have all taken their turns serving in the military, because of injury, and controversies that have caused some members to take time off, etc.

Unless you've watched a bunch of dramas, then you might not recognize Siwon, since he's a big actor. His biggest roles were on "My Fellow Citizens," and "She Was Pretty" but he's been in a bunch of others. Thank you for reacting to SuJu! Okay but that was really weird first mv to watch for those guys :,D Anyways Really cool you react those older groups from time to time thanks to patrons. Not an ELF, but really love them. They have so many great songs and are very hilarious on shows. As someone mentioned, they do have varying and interesting style throughout all of their songs. And yeah, their vocals, especially SuJu KRY's are amazing. As for little amount of Heechul, as far as I know, he had sort of serious leg injury back then and that's why he don't take a part in their dancing parts and mostly appear for one certain part of the song. And yeah, Burn the Floor is amazing.

i think you would really enjoy "don't don", it's an older song from when they were 13 members and still remains one of my favorites, henry is also featured as he was suppose to be added as a member but k-fans stopped any new members from being added...they still got away with it kind of by creating their mandarin sub-group, super junior-m, and adding him there and we got zhoumi as well as a bonus prize wanted to add now that i've finished watching that heechul doesn't perform much anymore which is why he's just there for the rap part, due to a car accident in 2006 his leg was badly broken and he still suffers from the effects of that. he has chronic pain in that leg and the members convinced him that rather than quit all together he should just do what he can and not worry about performing with them, they're just happy as long as he's part of super junior.

Speaking of being silly, they can't help it. That characteristic is something innate with this group since debut days. Even when they try to do something serious, there are times it would end up being comical. That's why their Super Show concerts are pretty wild. The production numbers range from a breathtaking/ serious/ emotional performances to out-of-this-world silly crazy cosplays and parodies where Idol image gets thrown out of the window. In Kpop, there is a saying, "there might be less crazy people in SJ but there is no one there who is not crazy." You should check out the House Party Special Video aka the pajama party version

Heechul doesn't dance anymore because of old injuries, so you usually just see him in the non-dancing parts of their MV's. My favorite songs of theirs are still Super Clap and I Think I which are on their comeback album after they were all back from the army. I love their smooth, laid back style. They aren't a boy group, they're men.

Funnily enough, because suju is an old group you feel that they do comebacks rare but in reality they are so active in music actually in both groups, sub-units, solos and collabs like it feels like they had just came back and months later they are on a preparation for another comeback plus album plus tour even when sometimes things get delayed, they're sooo active even with members enlisting from diffefent years.

SuJu, being in the game for going on 16 years now, have long ago stopped caring at all about any idol image they had and that's exactly why we get self-aware and wild songs like this. It also means they've done pretty much the whole gamut when it comes genres and sounds they've used so it's hard to choose a good place to start. For more recent releases: definitely Burn the Floor and I would also put in the argument for 2YA2YAO (pronounced E-YA-E-YA-O) Classic, 2nd gen songs: Sorry Sorry and Mr. Simple Songs that kinda bridge the gap between the two?: Devil, Mamacita, and Black Suit And then there are the subunits... Semi-related thought I had recently: Siwon and A.C.E's Jun remind me so much of each other in that they have these gorgeous faces but offset them completely by making the most ridiculous, over-the-top facial expressions I have ever seen.

Yes, red-haired guy Yesung is one the main vocals. His voice is super unique ( deep ,husky and raspy with excellent high register) and artsy -you should check out his solos and their subunit K.R.Y ( best voices of KPOP -Kyuhyun, Ryeowook ,Yesung). Yesung has like one of the most hauntingly beautiful , heart wrenching and soul piercing vocals in KPOP industry ...not many can emote like him . Thank you for the reaction. IDK if you realize but this song has a big covid message. The lyrics speak about how even if we are apart, we can have fun (having a house party). The choreo even has a motion of using hand sanitizer. Also the rap part with heechul is a representation of how the society is hidding form the virus.

Well...the members of Super Junior got older but none of them grew up, let's just say XD The reason Heechul only shows up in the middle part is due to an injury he sustained many years ago, he can't really participate in the choreography :/ Yup, the red-haired guy, Yesung, is one of the main vocalists alongside Kyuhyun and Ryeowook, and they even make up a subunit that had a release this year iirc :o Yeah, it's unfortunate that not many 2nd-gen girl groups have been active as of late. Probably the best examples would be Brown Eyed Girls (last release 2019) or the Sistar unit from recently! And perhaps Apink as well, since they'd essentially been active since their debut :o Also, the cake that reads "Everlasting Friends" is very meaningful because that's their fandom name, usually shortened as E.L.F. ;o

SuJu!!!!!!! No but really, I don't like the middle part either. It's why I didn't listen to the song again until I saw you reacted to it lol. They're freaking ridiculous though. Honestly, they and Shinhwa are probably my faves for variety shows. I mean, a lot of groups are hilarious and have made a name for themselves (like BtoB) but I have to say I think I've laughed the hardest when watching Super Junior or Shinhwa, especially when both of them did a couple of variety episodes together. Thanks for the reaction!! Super Junior is how I got into KPOP. Heechul was my Bias... So I started watching Knowing bros...When MAMAMOO appeared on the show...bang...it was love at first sight !!! Super junior vocally, they are strong. They have kyuhyun the no.1 best vocalist in Korea, Ryeowook is on 3rd while Yesung is on 10th.

Yes, SuJu are self aware, in general, not just in this. That's actually what I love them most for. In their "House Version" of this they perform at home in pyjamas, and on a wall in the back they have a "Happy 60th Birthday" decoration to make fun of their age. But they also still look amazing. The age double standard is a fact for women everywhere, not only K-Pop. In fact, I would put it the other way round: Only in K-Pop are the standards of youth and beauty almost as tough for men as they are for women. That said, I've never heard anyone compare Donghae to Cumberbatch. Even though both are very popular with women and I happen to love them both as well, Donghae recently won a poll again as best K-Pop male visual, and if there were such a category for actors, I doubt Cumberbatch would win. The one whose looks impressed you is Siwon, he comes from a rich family and he's an actor on the side.

I think It's You, This is Love and Evanesce are my favorite SuJu titles though they have plenty of bangers! Black Suit, Devil, and 2YA2YAO are real bops. (A warning: Sorry Sorry is a must-watch if only because it was a MASSIVE HIT that is still super influential to this day, but after it's success SM tried to recreate its magic like 3-4 times so if you dislike it you should give Mr Simple, Bonamana, and Sexy Free and Single a pass too lol)

I suggest listening to both MVs and live versions of Black Suit, Super Clap, Lo Siento, I think I , 2YA2YAO, The Crown-these are the most recent ones. My personal favourite is Black Suit ..a classy and nicely put together blend of modern and retro , not much synth , not overly produced ..but just tasteful . Hope you'll enjoy it ^^ Looking forward to your videos.

Please don’t miss burn the floor is a Bside for their newest album and is master piece! you said that Yesung (red hair guy) can sing… all of them can sing, you can see them singing live in “raining spell of love remake version” MV, they recorded this video while singing live or any video of their lives shows. Yesung have unique and great voice. He solo singer too. I love when he sing rock song. His current song that I like is Lost Heart Suju KRY (Kyuhyun, Ryeowook & Yesung) is great singer. Not only as sub unit but as Solo Singers.

Yeah I hate it when haters would say that "SJ looks so super cringey trying to be young in their MV and doing the trend that younger kpop idols are doing", "They are too old for this" blah blah blah but thank you for knowing that they're old yet still got it and knows what they're doing. Us ELFs are very happy for defending our boys. Super Junior and other older generation groups who are still performing really deserve the best support, respect and love.
