You decided to check out the seventeen guide so quickly into your journey and I love that. You said you’re into variety. You will LOVE Seventeen they are THE variety kings. They are known to go overboard just for entertainment you would think they are a comedic group and not kpop artist. They are literally named Variety Show Kings by the industry. One of the members you will learn about in part 4 (vocal team), Boo Seungkwan, who is apart of BSS, is a variety show king. He has been on countless and countless of variety shows by himself and with seventeen. Many people get to known seventeen and see Seungkwan and immediately are like “oh I watched a variety show that he was in!” He also promoted seventeen a lot. He went on a lot of variety shows at the beginning of his career to promote seventeen because their company was bankrupt and didn’t have any money to promote them so he took it into his owns hands. When it comes to their synchronization they aren’t just called the synchronization kings as just a nickname because they looked synchronized but it was actually proven. It was proven by a computer data analysis program that Seventeen is the most synchronized group in kpop. I cant wait for you to learn about the members.

BTOB and Seventeen are my favourite groups (: They're very similar in the sense that (along with Mamamoo - a girlgroup), they're all super close knit, and known to be super talented but also super crazy. Also that BTOB and Seventeen write their own songs. Seventeen's variety show program is the most popular variety show amongst all idols. There was a Korean variety show called Infinite Challenge which was called "the Nation's variety show" basically and it's still super popular despite ending years ago. People call Going Seventeen the Idols' Infinite Challenge - that's how big it is (:

Seventeen guide reaction? I'm seated. And subscribing 😊 Hot tip: you should definitely check out the dance practice with the mv when you react to any of their music. It's a joy to watch fr. BSS song "Fighting" was released early 2023 and is still charting. The song was used as the representative song for the National Korean team in the olympics this year. That's how big it was. When those three perform at award shows, they have the entire crowd, all idols, everyone, on their feet. 😅 For a fun but short reaction, please watch "Idols/Celebs react to Going Seventeen" that show is huge and some episodes are even aired on their national tv channel. 13:33 the first win the video talks about is on a music show, not an award show! music shows are where they promote their songs after comebacks, award shows are the year end shows where the big awards like song of the year and artist of the year are given! still, svt did win some awards (on award shows) in 2016! but their first daesang (the big award) was in 2019 on AAA for album of the year. and recently, in 2023, they won their first MAMA daesang (which i believe is cooler than the AAA one? lol). it’s really meaningful since they are on their 10th year as a group and many newer groups win daesangs earlier nowadays, so that’s really cool that they manage to reach new heights even as a senior group!

3:00 i mean in my opinion, numbers in group names are a bad choice lol. Like SF9, Day6.....they had 9 and 6 members but some have left .....so they kinda need to find a new reason to have that name 😂😂😂 14:07, this "first win" was actually about the music show win. So like there are 4 major shows that idols go to promote their songs during a new release and perform and then voting happens and they win. So "pretty you" was the song that got them their first music show win. Same for btob, all their previous songs despite being good did not win, until "way back home". And sometimes, due to lots of steaming , some songs win in these shows even if they are old and suddenly blow up and chart high ! Like EXO's "First Snow" charts at the top every year during winter despite being released in 2013. BTS "spring day" also blows up like that i think. As for big award shows, rookie groups don't get big awards but these days, new 5th gen groups are getting some good awards.

Yeah but Seventeen has never had the amount of members as the number in their name, so it doesn't really matter, it's just their name! They're just called Seventeen it doesn't really matter why because it's just what they're called.

@Singingtater24 I said that coz the guide said they were supposed to have 17 members. I mean for me I do want to know why a certain group is called a certain name , just how fans want to know why a particular idol has a certain stage name. And even if it's not fully applicable to seventeen, I still think group names with numbers are a bad choice . It's just my opinion. I never said I dislike the name "seventeen".
