For me the song is the musical description between sadness and joy. Sadness because it is a very melancholic, oppressive song. Joy through the memories of a more carefree time when you jumped and swam around with Mario.

This used to be my least favorite song on the game, but I'm sitting here CRYING at how beautiful this was. And, from a pianists position, your hand movement is so astoundingly beautiful, too. Your control is blissful to the ear, while also being mindful of its impact. Bravo. Bravo, indeed.
