That staff roll theme always brings me to tears. Maybe because when I heard that theme for the first time, I had this big sense of accomplishment. This game at the time was the biggest game to me, and to finally finish it to the end as a kid, it was just euphoric. Hearing the happy tune in the end as the birds chirped off into the distance and the credits roll some of my favorite moments of the game just to quickly relive it. This game is just amazing. One of the most memorable experiences of my life.

The 90s was a pretty wild decade. I remember playing Super Mario 42 with my buddies after school. Bowser killed half of the mushroom kingdom with the Infinity Gauntlet, so Mario, Luigi and the gang go back in time to correct the timeline. Mind you, at this point "the gang" had 6 Yoshis, four Princeses (2 shadow version) and the "lost" Mario brother; Guiseppe. If you 100%'d Super Mario 40: Resistance and Super Mario 41: Electric Boogaloo you then unlocked the elite strike team of Seal Toad 6, Lakitu: God of Thunder and of course the hidden nation of Wakanda.

Dude, when he said “22 years later and Mario is still dancing on all these mega-budget games with their clunky ass characters” (about 1:16) I immediately thought of how Odyssey is doing so well and how the first thing that is always brought up is how smooth it plays. It’s just fun to jump around, and it works so well. It’s basically just a sequel to SM64, yet it trounces so many other massive titles that are way more complex.

I've struggled to talk about games and topics that I truly enjoy and appreciate for years in the fear of not being able to convey my emotions, thoughts and importance of said games and topics to myself and undersell, not so them justice - and dunko just comes in slam-dunking it perfectly. Dunkey, I never thought I would be thinking about this but, it sounds like you’re reading off of an award winning script. With how it’s all built, transition, and explained all come together that makes it so moving.

I imagine this game must be very important to him. For one, a nostalgiac item from his childhood. And secondly, a game he played during what seemed to be an interesting part of his life. Watching through his playthrough you can see him slowly lose energy and will. Then towards the end of the series, there's a sudden flip as his life gets a lot better.
