Brilliant work! I've really wanted to do this but in the Zelda theme. Love Mario but Zelda on the NES was my jam.

Omg you’re brilliant! I have family that’s fight for those lol! They’re so detailed and the clean lines you got from your router bit look great around the edges, the detail of the characters are impressive

Very cool project! The idea of just glueing them to a MDF substrate is great and makes the entire thing much more approachable. I'd been wanting to do some 8bit style designs and I appreciate you sharing your technique!

Amazingly cool final result! For these to be more effective acoustic diffusers, they should have much deeper wells between the tallest and shortest blocks (around 4"). There are online calculators that output a cut list for maximum acoustic benefit. If these were built to be as effective of acoustic treatment as other diffusers, I know many composers (me included!) that would pay a steep premium to ship them to their studios.

Thank you and I'll have to check that out, thanks for the input! I think a massive Bowser is the future.
@danieldavismusic

@@TimberBiscuitWoodworks That would be insane. I think if you went with 4" as the longest chunks, it would do a lot to not only increase the acoustic effectiveness of the diffuser, but also to increase the 'wow' factor of his scale compared to the other characters.

Spotted these in one of your most recent videos, and had to come see if you did a build on them. Crazy how the shop has improved in only a year. Your quality on builds is still top notch though! Keep up the good work, sir!

I really love this build! Just found your channel and I'm truly impressed! Thank you for great content and for not having tons of music in your videos! I really prefer woodworking videos with voice over instead. May I ask? You seems to have a ton of walnut, do you have a good deal somewhere? Where I live it is really expensive!
@TimberBiscuitWoodworks
@TimberBiscuitWoodworks Жыл бұрын
Awesome, thank you, and welcome to the channel! I don't necessarily get a good deal on the walnut, it's about $11-12 a board foot for 8/4 and $9 a BF for 4/4, but I don't mind paying a bit more since I really love working with walnut.

@@TimberBiscuitWoodworks Thank you so much! It is a lot more expensive in sweden if I translated your 8/4 and 4/4 right... =) But I try to get some whenever I can since both I and my wife likes it. Have a great day! And thanks for answering!

How would you go about doing ten blocks at a time?
@szeredaiakos
@szeredaiakos Жыл бұрын
@@TimberBiscuitWoodworks Not exactly 10 but. Cut 1 bar in half, lay the 2 pieces one in front of the other, cut them both, now you have 4. Repeat 8, repeat 16,... The final cut will be tricky but with a bit of tape it can be done. If you stagger them on the final cut they will be of different size.
@TimberBiscuitWoodworks
@TimberBiscuitWoodworks Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately then you have a bunch of loose pieces moving around on the table saw which is pretty dangerous. All those pieces would also be really difficult to keep consistent which is what you need for a project like this one.
@szeredaiakos
@szeredaiakos Жыл бұрын
@@TimberBiscuitWoodworks True. Probably a rig providing plenty of downward pressure would be more secure. Unless you happen to have a well tuned bandsaw.
