This is a review of Super Mario and the Cursed Castles by Foxen. It's a rom hack for Super Mario 64. #Mario64 is one of my favorite Nintendo games, and so I was really looking forward to playing a #romhack of the game. This #gamereview is full of analysis and insights about this SM64 hack to help people who want to play Nintendo fan games decide if this fan game is one they'd like to play.

I love a lot about this rom hack. It looks great, and it has identity. Some of the levels are just frigging awesome (The tetris world, the snowy city, the spooky grove level). The original music is also very cool and sets the tone well. My biggest criticisms are twofold: 1) there are moments where the heavy reliance on technically difficult jumps becomes gimmicky and tedious, and it slows down the gameplay significantly. 2) Like you said, the camera is quite awkward at times, even moreso than the original Super Mario 64.
