So this is a hack of SMB 1 on the NES, but it's also a modded emulator running it. I have no idea how it works, but it is awesome. That’s because the modded nes emulator allows for sprites having 16 colors each rather then only 4 colors, while the amount of colors onscreen has been bumped up from 16/25 to 64 colors atonce,not sure if multi scrolling backgrounds were added to it as an extra feature as well, But the results are impressive ,,, However , it can be done on the nes by adding extra V ram, using a mappers with tons of memory rom along with bankswitching to updates tiles on the fly, While those 64 colors can be dithered,blurred and blended down to 16/25 colors, and for sprites, they can stack many sprites together to get around the 3 color limit of sprites,,, So trough clever tricks, it can be possible on the real nes.

This rom hack is insanely cool! The graphics are 8- bit versions of the Super Mario All- Stars version of Super Mario Bros 1 (which was 16- bit) I also love that they used the Super Mario Bros 3 sprites for Mario, Luigi and the power ups too! It fits surprisingly well!

Ahhh. I found out why. So by default the bubble thing doesn't work. I guess you have to complete the game and put in a cheat code. We had a save state that had it already unlocked. Sorry about that.

This is so good. I remember seeing this before. It's a special NES emulator thing that is also sold as FPGA stuff or NES-on-a-Chip. It's some enhanced TurboGrafx16-ish NES with more nametables, more colors, more CPU instructions. It's that sweet inbetween spot between NES and SNES.
