Snow the Jam Man same here, but also why i don’t watch his newer content anymore. i got frustrated with him chasing trends and releasing content regardless of how bad the flow of the video was. his earlier LPs were just him creating a relationship with his audience (who has mostly left) and his recording and audio quality has forever been going down instead of improving.

This is absolutely ridiculous. You're exhausted and sleepy, and yet you're breezing through this game like nothing. There's something about 8-bit games that escapes me to this day, especially those that are nearly as old as, and older than, me (born in 1989). I'm in the same sleep situation. Once 2 am rolls around and I'm not tired, because I woke up at 4pm, I have to make the decision to either to stay up all day, or try and force myself to sleep right then. Best thing to to is go out and do something that takes a lot of energy during the day so that you're tired before 4am, and then it's just a matter of staying off the computer xD. Anyways, love your let's plays, keep it up, Tim.

Oh Mr. Tim. I did the same thing earlier today regarding the koopa shell playing the very first Mario on my 25th Anniversary collection today. I remember when I was a kid, my cousin owned this game and I wanted it soo badly. We were out in an abandoned bus just chilling out one day with the cartridge and it started raining like crazy with thunder and lightning. When we got back to my house we realized that we forgot the cartridge and he made a bet that if I could say "Winnie the Pooh" 1000 times he'd go out, retrieve it and give it to me. I said "Winnie Pooh" 1000 times and then said "the" 1000 times afterward. I still have the game :)

Maybe this should've been called the SpeedOid run. :) Proof you're an excellent gamer- I never would've been able to blow through the first 2 worlds as quickly as you have, and you completely own the card match game. I've played through this game at least 200 times and have yet to play as well as you have here. Also interesting you're able to pick up 3 fire flowers in the first world, something I've never done. Funny you also sing the "Sunshine go away today" song in the sun level, classic 70's commercial rock (a genre I love, and I'm not embarrassed about it either!) which is a song I often sing while playing video games. Man I think the All-Stars version has spoiled me- I haven't played the NES version in years and forgot how groovy and awesome the fortress and airship themes are.

Coincidentally, I have a problem with sleeping as well. It's exactly the same situation as yours was, going to bed at 4:00- 5:00 in the morning and getting up some time around the afternoon. I mean, I don't miss out on a lot of stuff, since there isn't anything too exciting ever going on, but I still miss getting up early in the morning and playing video games. Now I stay up all night watching KZbin videos. Of course I'm gonna watch your videos,because you're just awesome. :D

i always liked lining up the first two mushroom pieces, then the bottom star piece, so it looked like it was wearing a suit. i think i had this game up until i was about 13, and i never beat it so this is pretty satisfying really.

As for the sleep - you gotta force yourself to go to bed at whatever time you want, even if you're not feeling tired. It sucks, but eventually your body will adjust. Tim, the reverse daycycle, I've just been there! And I feel your pain... it's so hard to turn it around again... the way I did it was stay up all night and all day until early evening one day, go to bed and just sleep until you wake up... don't set an alarmclock... It will work for you eventually... I had days where I would go to bed at noon and wake up around nine or ten in the evening... It just depresses you in the end if you go on doing that for too long.. I hope you turn it around soon..

Ahhh, what memories I have playing this game with my sisters! During the "Pick a box..." segment, one sister would say "Pick a nose. Its boogers will help you on your way." My other sister (who is actually here right now!) thought World 1's map music sounded like "Dulcolax", so she would sing "Dulcolax, Dulcolax, Dulcolax-Dulcolax, Dulcolax, Dulcolax-doh" along with it, LOL!

On the white blocks in this game.... if you hold the down button for a long enough time you can go behind the map and if you go to the end of the map where the black square is and go behind it you can get a whistle which wil take you through the game faster

I did the same thing with my sleep cycle at the beginning of summer... actually doing stuff during the daytime is what really get's you out of it! I tried what you are doing (staying up for, like, 20 hours until when you are supposed to go to sleep), but I kept falling asleep at the wrong time anyway.

There's actually a secret you can do in World 2. If you have the Hammer from one of the Boomerang Bros, there's a rock in the top right corner of the map screen. Break that block and you can see a SECRET PASSAGE (HCBailly reference :D), as well as a Toad House and a Fire Bro. The Toad House (to my knowledge) ALWAYS gives you a Frog Suit and the Fire Bro gives you a Magic Flute.

@TwixKwix It's Tanooki, and heck no. There's the Fire Flower, the P-Wing (although that's similar to the Tanooki Leaf), the Tanooki SUIT, which is like the Leaf only you can turn into a statue, there's the Frog Suit, and finally there's the Hammer Suit.

There's Boom Boom in it, the Koopalings have airships, and the P-acorn is like the P-wing, and apparently some levels in Soda Jungle are based on Giant Land. NSMB U is kinda based on Super Mario World, but there are still SMB3 references.

This is so frustrating for me to watch! Secrets he's missed W1: L1-1: fly-to clouds, top of the pipe towards end of the level L1-2: The first venus firetrap's pipe L1-3: one-up, coin heaven and the most annoying secret finish in this game L1-4: a one-up, several 10 coin bricks, and the white mushroom house World 1 castle: secret exit (no boss fight for this route) L1-5: as he said, just coin heaven L1-6: at drop-down point, fly don't think this is a walkthrough... Great speedrun, though!
