Quick reminder to everybody episode 4 is gonna be 100% different than the original. Not only that it’s the first time anyone’s done a sprite animation of King Bob-Omb so Smashinity’s got a LOT of work to do on that one so nobody ask when episode 4 is coming out because it’s gonna take quite a while

Ok this IS better than the original. The dynamics in battle, the beautiful camera perspectives, like a real anime. The music choice was also excellent, especially when Sonic and Shadow were fighting. Tails being Sonic's sidekick instead of Shadow in the original already changes a lot in terms of dialogue and dynamics between the characters. Wonderful work, I absolutely adore this.

This was pretty good. Definitely liked the use of the different perspectives and viewpoints, especially during Sonic's fight with Shadow. Not to mention, the use of modular sprites was a nice touch, and the characters were a lot more expressive.

One of my favorite aspects of sprite animations are the backgrounds and I gotta say... I was very impressed with the setting and themes of each individual section of the storyline here! The city backgrounds, shop, neighborhoods, cafes.... All of it was so good! It really makes the story feel complete and adds to the world building. I noticed it was really good during the first episode, but really stood out during this one! Love this series so far. Awesome job Smashinity!

I don't really think it's going quite in that direction. Sonic fears that shadow will become his enemy so maybe shadow will get developed over the course of the series. I hope it's a better development Sega had to offer.

I'm not so sure. You have to remember Sonic is the center of everything so he is the main one fighting the villains of the series. Also Shadow was in stasis for 50 years so he had no experience during that time. And Sonic has been in action longer then Shadow has been out of stasis. Sonic had his whole life prior to SA2 to gain experience while Shadow only had his time prior to being sealed and the time after SA2. So arguably Sonic has more experience than Shadow. However who is the better fighter just by pure skill and innate ability is debatable.

It's not surprising if Shadow ends up beating Sonic sometimes, hell this has already happened in some of the games as well. And before you bring up whether or not its canon, this whole sprite animation isn't even canon so anything goes

Even Shadow himself admits that Sonic is the "True Ultimate Lifeform". Sonic always holds back aganist his friends, I don't think he would go all out aganist him unlike Shadow.

It amazes me how fast all of you do this, this has a really neat and fluid animation. You really put a lot of work, and those streams animating it are proof of it, also neat that you do those too, show progress and all. Props to you! In the story, bold decision to make Shadow an anti-hero for now, it will be interesting, and reuniting them with Amy, it is good, but it would be good to if they reunite with the series, but I like it anyway, Knuckles saving the Toadette was something I didn't expected, nice. Not very much else to say, I barely remember some stuff from the original series thoug, so this was like a first, amazing job as always!

Smashinity fantastic job, on this episode, I completely agree with Creeper dude 440 this episode was simple another wonderful improvement. The new design on Metal is like, a fusion of the normal metal and Mecha merged together. Then we have Shadow and Fawful, once again Shadow being manipulated is liked but him willingly doing is even better it shows Shaodw's getting fired of Sonic apparently making a mess of thing's :)

Oh, Fawful's Minion will love this series. The Street Fighter reference here is to Remy's Rising Rage Flash during Shadow's battle with Sonic (near the end). In addition, Luigi and one of the Toads from New Super Mario Bros. Wii are playing Street Fighter II, and Ryu's Street Fighter 4 theme plays when the two are about to fight. Also, the Blue Toad becomes Akuma for a brief moment & I love it. XD
