Dude, as someone who unironically loves this movie, I *_SO_* wish these figures were all really released. I'm not a good figure customizer (most I do is paint over figures & _occasionally_ swap a head or two, if the heads have the same or at least a similar peg connection), so I turned instead to finding figures to substitute for characters from the movie. I chose Ellie Sattler from Kenner's Jurassic Park line (I plan on repainting her shirt to match the color from the movie), the Ravishing Reporter variant of April O'Neil from TMNT as Daniela, the Rock 'N Roll variant of Mondo Gecko from TMNT as Toad, & a baby T-Rex from the Imaginext Jurassic World toyline.

I'm a die hard fan of this movie, I cosplay as Luigi at conventions and Halloween. I do HVAC, plumber and electrical and I'll admit, I have a green tool pouch and rainbow web belt that I wear proudly when working. Hell, I'm even working on a pair of stompers from the movie!

These are awesome, well done! I do my share of customs and will probably give some of these a try. I already have the Scooby van on watch on ebay. Do you have the Yoshi figure from the movie's Facebook page? I recently joined and posted mine. For the Mario & Luigi figures in their plumber clothes, how did you remove their hats and hide the stomper boots? Also can these figures be easily taken apart by heating them up and pulling them apart? Great work again!

I have a Yoshi video, I ended up buying the one that was already painted! The shaving down of the heads and boots were done with a dremel tool. The head, arms and legs come out pretty easily after boiling in water. I have found stuffing them back in can be a bit of a struggle even softening them up. One video I want to do which I was I had done more documentation of the process is the beginning to end making of a Mario! I admittedly have done I think the bulk of interesting ones! There are a few obscure goofy figures up my sleeve still! 😅

what's weird is, in the movie, Luigi wears the red jumper, mario wears the green. Then Luigi is in the red suit and Mario is in the yellow ( loose Wario reference?) and that there's no Daisy figure. also, the many references to the games in the film are fun to point out. I had for the longest time wondered how to go about it, I wonder if the regular goomba with his eyes accentuated and if he can be given the head swirl how good he could look. I had a little harmonica accessory set aside for ages. More recently I had thought of trying to do pre deevolved Toad with the goomba coat and boots too!

Oh yeah, the love is definitely there! As a 80s and 90s Nintendo kid, it was definitely a huge deal to me and for better or worse it stuck with me! 😅 I can definitely recognize it is with its flaws and why so many people don’t care for it at all.

@@zackgb Yeah, and I don't want to bring down anyone's love for the film, but to me, the film's kinda in an awkward position. You see, the film did have an interesting idea behind it: a gritty world where dinosaurs evolved below the Earth's surface and didn't die out. And the fact that one of these dinosaur people was experimenting with technology that could de-evolve people. However, Mario and his games were KNOWN back then for being cheery, bright, and fun. The best word you could describe the Super Mario Bros. Movie with is "culture shock". I feel the film could've made money and actually be likeable by the masses... if Super Mario wasn't attached to it. That's just my take, though! 😁
