This brings back so much emotion and nostalgia. The memories... man I don’t even know where to start. Summer of 2010: I was in 3rd grade, my family had just moved about 500 miles away, so we had to give away our pets because they couldn’t handle the drive. We had no money, neither of my parents had jobs. I did have a wii though. We stayed at my crazy (literally) grandmas house in the hood, and man that wii was my life. All I had was new super Mario bros. I saved some money and my dad took me to game stop for the first time. With 40 dollars of birthday money, I spotted SUPER MARIO GALAXY. I put in the Wii and was determined to save peach after I saw her kingdom get destroyed and the happy festival ruined. The game was my refuge to the harsh reality outside of it. This song sticks with me to this day. I loved gliding with those flowers in the gusty garden, hearing this magical tune. I still have this game and the console. Sometimes I’ll put it on and cry because of all the thoughts that come into mind. I was so innocent and sad at the time and just had infinite love for the game that sticks with me to this day. DUDE, I don't know if you will get to read my comment, but literally so much that you said in this comment happened to me too. I was in 3rd grade when my family lost our home and we had to move to our grandma's house, which was also in the hood. Most of the time living there took place during the summer. I had a Wii, and that thing was also my life. I used to play Mario kart Wii and new super Mario bros Wii the whole day, because I loved those games, and because I was stuck in an apartment with nothing better to do. I adored those games, and truly appreciate having something to distract me from everything else that was not going so well. You are obviously older than me, and the times these events happened were different, BUT MAN WAS I SHOCKED when I read your comment, and everything came back to me, all the time spent playing those games, having so much fun, when everything around me was so down.

Back when my family first got this game for the Wii (which I was 5-7 years old), we would constantly just fight over who should play, and seeing this video today brings back so much memories, like how I was the first person to 100% complete the game with Mario and Luigi. I never really understood the ending back as a child, and was really confused what the heck happened, and finally learning about it years later, I can never stop crying whenever I see it. Thank you Super Mario Galaxy for this magical journey. (Side Note: I would also like to thank Super Mario Galaxy 2, since I got it 2 or 3 years ago, and was able to beat it 100% with Mario and Luigi)

Well they don't actually close it, they just made the black hole to restore the things it swallow. (But technically the black hole recreated a mini big bang who restore the galaxy) (So yes, everyone died, but they were created again in the same form and with the same memories)

I remember watching videos like this when the game first came out because I didn’t have it but I loved it so much. Then for my birthday my grandparents got it for me and so realize I was like seven years old so I was like crying because of how happy I was. It meant so much to me, this brings back great memories. Still can’t get past the first bowser though ;-; I’m probably going to go and power up the game again and play some easy bosses to prepare. Lol.

My favorite Mario game! I love it so much because as a kid I didn't have an N64 or GameCube, so I couldn't play stuff like Mario Sunshine or Mario 64. When I got Galaxy I knew it was going to be a fresh game with good bosses and graphics. I mostly enjoyed the open world experience, I never played anything like it! The galaxies were phenomenal and creative! The hub world with the addition of the new character, Rosalina was so fantastic! So there you go, that's what I think of Super Mario Galaxy, in my opinion, it tops the 2nd.

All the bosses are so cool and I love the gameplay, but for whatever reason, I actually beat Super Mario Galaxy 2 twice before beating this game once. This game is SOOOO GOOD, the Galaxy games easily reigns superior over so many of the other mario games.
