I loved this game as a kid, I didn't own it, but my cousin did. She gave it and a GB to my sister so I had a chance to beat it. I HATED the last level, died so much, and I needed to get the coins again when I ran out of lives. Nice run.

It's funny how in the second space level, Mario gets as close as possible to touching the stars but doesn't get hurt...iI guess the good thing about autocrolling levels is you're forced to move at a certain speed so Mario can play around! Also, mrgoat86, I didn't even see your comment when writing this one, but we're both talking about Mario's odd thing with the stars. 11:55 He *DIES* in ONE HIT? O_O

I agree when you say it's the best Gameboy game, but it's low on my list of favorite Mario's. Except for the out-of-place-difficult-final-castle, the entire game is too easy.

Not sure what you mean. Some of it is to make the run not look so bland, and some of it is to exploit corner boosting. If you jump at a certain point so that Mario's head hits the bottom-right part of almost any block, you get pushed forward one pixel.

If a boss ends up outside the screen in its dying-animation, the fight ends there so you don't have to wait for it to drop down to the floor.

Someone asked if he's cheating cuz it seems like he can touch the stars (stupid youtube won't let us reply to old messages anymore). Anyway the hit detection of the stars means you have to touch the center of the star with the center rectangle of the Mario sprite, to get hurt. He's not "cheating," he's just using TAS to get as pixel close as possible to the stars without actually triggering a hit.

Haha, well gbc is almost the same experience. Not the same console but, still, the same games. In color. I am 22 and my first videoconsole was actually a original game boy. It was a very enjoyable experience back then. No color, no 3d, 8 bit, and a very small screen. But hey, back then, it was really good.
