Amazing Man! To tell you the truth, this game was the first Mario game I played and one that I have kept for quite some time! Hearing the ending again just makes me think about all those times that I could never beat the first boss! Awesome arrangement!

I can't over this song, and the ending... it's so beautiful, yet simple. There is some profound philosophical message behind all of this. Perhaps it is the longing of human beings to desire a world that is so perfectly simple, or maybe the rocket ship symbolizes all of our desires to escape the horrors of the world.

For a portable Mario game in 1989, this game had a lot of depth to it. Some Bosses actually required strategy to beat besides the old "stomp on head/axe the bridge" stuff. The music was terrific, the enemies were new and interesting, and it introduced Daisy, one of my favorite characters. SML is in definite need for a 21st century reboot. Nintendo remade Donkey Kong, and Mario 1 several times. Why not this game?

I want this very track to be the theme of my wedding. I'm thinking "You may now kiss the Bride." at the 0:28 pick-scratch touches off an orbit-cam view of transition from GameBoy 4-level grayscale to NES color, through SNES DSP 2D (a la Mario Kart), to N64 primitive 3D, ending with PC level 3D (on a 2D monitor), 3D (via glasses to simulate Oculus), and reality. Technology caught up. I have Everything-but-the-Girl. This is so cool.
