Super Mario Land (Game Boy) · Old School

It's been a VERY long time since I've played Mario Land on the Game Boy. I was never that impressed with the game back in the day, let's see if my opinion has changed since then.

There's a New Super Mario Land, which is precisely this game being remade on the SNES unofficially

This takes me back to being a little boy, I remember having the clear game boy that was see through. Bit overall I wasn't too keen on this game, yes this was the game with the submarine and plane.

Ah, the see-through Game Boy was cool, loved that. Yeah, Mario Land just doesn't do it for me. I've tried playing some more since making the video, but I'm just not enjoying it.

@@ChorizoMachine I agree, the game did feel underwhelming. I think it's because I played it the time of mario 64, I think for its time it was probably a brilliant game, but again like you, I wasn't feeling it.

Croc 1 & 2 from PS1 are far better games than Super Mario 64 though. It's just that nintendo boys don't know literally any other games beyond the spectrum of mario & zelda & pokemon, and it's been this way for the last 40 years. Croc 1 & 2 are also games from the very same game developers from whom Nintendo stole the game engine, having rejected their demo of a potential Super Mario 64 game. That very same engine Nintendo ended up using anyway in their actual SM64 game, which is why the 2 games are so similar, and yet Croc games are far more polished, interactive and inspiring. Croc reacts to walls, can push boxes, etc.

@kacperzimowski4626 Actually, I didn't even read the rest of this. They did NOT steal their engine. And Mario reacts to walls and can pick up boxes. They rejected Argonaut's demo of a YOSHI game.
