It’s too bad that we haven’t gotten a new entry in the Mario Land series. I like how weird they are. Back before Wonder came out the thing I wanted to see was a weird hybrid of Mario land and Mario 2 where you’d have those weird power ups, multiple characters with different abilities, certain enemies that can only be killed by throwing stuff at them, and other elements. What we got with Wonder was good, but I wish they’d bring back some elements from those games.

Grew up with the Mario Land games, but on the original hardware. It still holds up really well, especially the second game. Loved the commentary overall, different perspectives on something I grew up with is always a fun time.

It’s a bit weird that Wario land isn’t as remembered as Yoshi’s Island or Donkey Kong Country

I love the Wario Land games, but Wario Land 1 has to be my least favorite entry. Wario Land is defined by the concepts it takes from Mario and Metroid, which work surprisingly well together when done right. The problem with Wario Land 1 is that, while it was already taking risks breaking from Mario's conventions, it still stuck too closely to the Mario formula and suffered from it. It tries to encourage you to explore the levels and take things slow, but it also gives you these platforming sections with giant instant-death pits that reset your progress. This is fine in Mario where each level is designed to be run through, but in Wario Land this design philosophy is directly antagonistic to the idea of exploration; it simply makes playing the game incredibly tedious because of how slow and punishing the levels are made to be. By the end of my playthrough, I was fed up with trying to explore and just played it like a Mario game, running through each level without care. Fortunately, Wario Land 2 is probably my 2nd favorite entry out of all the games. It strikes a better balance with its Mario and Metroid inspiration. Even Wario Land on the Virtual Boy was amazing because it felt like it took what Wario Land 1 was trying to be and perfected the execution. Each Wario Land has something different to offer in that way, so even if you don't gel with one, it is worth checking the other entries out. I wish both the Wario Land and Super Mario Land franchise would come back, I really loved how they were exploring completely new ideas outside of what Mario was established to be.

And than Wario Land 3 went on to become almost like an Metroid game with it's Metroidvania approach, which also still retaining some platform style we come to know and it works really well.

I think instead of Galaxy 2 reusing Galaxy 1’s plot, Galaxy 2 should’ve had Tatanga be the main villain. It would’ve made sense with him being an alien

That’s a pretty good idea actually but you know how Nintendo can be sometimes playing it safe (no hate to Galaxy 2 intended at all)

I think the quirkiness of these games has been captured again in Mario Wonder, and we don't need two 2D Mario series when this creativeness in general is kept alive in modern Bros. games. And hey, Daisy's here, too! I honetslay think Wonder is meant to be the marriage of the Bros., Land and World games. I'm more sad about Wario Land being dead though, while the first game isn't so great at first glance, all the hidden treasures and money hoarding aspects give it a certain addicting quality and I think it's easily the most replayable out of these three games because of it. And later WL games tweaked the gameplay and feel to be much more unique and even fast-paced in the case of WL4. I definitely recommend them.

bros and world are on the same group since world has the subtitle of super mario bros 4 in japan, so it's just land + bros and well daisy is definitely there, but wario isn't (womp womp)

Wario Land 3 is my top game of all time, having completed it a number of times. After beating Metroid Fusion, I consider it more of a sequel to that game than Wario Land 4. Especially since in Japan it's called Wario Land Advance. Hey Brandt, you want an interesting video idea, explain how Wario Land 3 is the secret Metroid game between Super and Fusion. Maybe I could help out a little bit with details, that is if you want them. Also check out my video about how Wario Land 3 is the most unique metroidvania ever made.

honestly i would like another "land" game be it wario or mario.

a new mario land is not necessarily needed, they can just make the next 2d mario entry to reuse elements from the land series but it's not like either of them is happening anyway, specially wario land
