There is another way of solving the puzzle, but it's unconventional. Instead of riding the pow block while on the moving skulls, you throw the spring up the slot with the saw beside it after the bomb-omb blows up the ice blocks. Next, throw the bomb-omb up where the spring was to cover the gap, but make sure you reset the room before you got rid of the spring for a second bob-omb. Now, the bob-omb walks over, hits the note block, and frees yoshi. Now, you reset the room (yoshi won't move, but the spring will, and you can now reach the room without the spring) and get the spring back, being able to solve the puzzle from there.

Then toss the spring under the yoshi that is sitting on the sawblade...the problem comes in when you have to get up top to collect the yoshi without going through the door and without the spring

I'm so glad i'm not the only one that saw that... I may just got play that level. I really like the door reset mechanic in this one, giving you more chances without you having to restart the level, and respawning the bomb.

I was thinking just repeatedly jump up and down on the spring to stay above the gate but that seems the easier solution XD

Don't know for sure, but pretty sure that was the answer. In doing so it would have allowed mario to be a bit taller than those blockades. Which would have let him pass right through the side of them. So he could have then jumped and hit the noteblock with his head. Though you have to get rid of those ice blocks first as well as place the spring in that alcove so Yoshi would be bounced out the top. This is all conjecture, but I'm about to go look up the level and play it myself. To see if my guess is right.

Put the pow block on the skull platform. Stand on the pow block as the platform moves. That should let you glide through the blockers. Then jump and hit the note block.

Put the POW block on the skull bridge and stand on it. Your head can clip through the one-way bars and lets you free the Yoshi. It's a mechanic I never knew about either

I think the solution for the puzzle, is to put the spring under the saw. So when the bomb comes and walks on it, it will bounce up and will supposedly step on the note block. I think that's the solution.

I think I figured out how to beat the first one. If you put the spring on the skulls, you can ride it above the down-walls. Somebody else suggested using the pow block, which I think would work better.

for the first puzzle i think you need to use the Pow block on the platform so that you clip through the one way gate and so you can hit the note block

I've figured out Too Many Items. THIS IS A SPOILER YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED Use the Bob-omb to blow up the ice. Place the vert spring on the mover, grab the POW block, and set it on the mover. Activate mover, get on POW block, and hit music note. Place POW block on vert spring, jump on the POW block, retrieve the P-switch, and pop it up the saw. Pop the vert spring up the P-switch, do the POW spring trick and retrieve Yoshi. Have Yoshi retrieve the P-switch and hori spring. POW the guccis, place the hori on top of the vert, grab the P-switch, activate it up top, and you're home free. You're welcome.

You were close before you killed yourself. The skull platform doesn't activate if you're standing on something on top of it. You should put the pow or spring on the platform, then activate it by standing on it, then hit the music note from the bottom since you'll be just above the one way arrows. Then you use the spring from the bottom through the saw to bounce the yoshi egg up to the top.
