You know what sucks? When you thought you finished collecting the purple coins the the area but you notice you miss 8. Now you have to re play the entire castle to find those 8 coins you missed.

TheLivingLatios If you have a Bowser Wedding Amiibo just scan it on the NFC Touchpoint and it will activate a purple circle, signaling where the purple coins are! Very helpful in those situations.

these Purple Coins are called Regional Coins btw if nobody knew.

Even though there are 1,000 regional or "purple" coins throughout the game, none are essential to finish the main game. They, like the items they are used to purchase (souvenirs) are optional.

I agree. There's a bit more reasoning to it with the story missions, obviously, but with the optional ones, the slight pause just obliterates any sense of momentum you likely had. Wish they took the same approach to these kind of things that Super Mario 3D World did.
