The reason the space distortion glitch happens is that the more out of bounds mario goes, the more errors come up in floating point calculations. This results in distortion of all 3D models.

Yeah, as you get farther from 0, the more distance there is between each floating point number since they're stored as a number and an exponent. As the distance gets greater, this starts to affect how close together the vertices of mario's model can be, resulting in the interesting corruption on the pause menu.

The reason for the weird Mario face in the end is that the game engine needs to calculate the position if all triangles in Marios face, but since the coordinates are so high, the floating point numbers can only take on specific values, leading to this cut-off look, since the menu needs to be placed in front of the camera, wich is very far down.

Another way of explaining that would be that floating point numbers have a (roughly) set number of digits, so larger numbers have less digits after the decimal point, so less precision when looking at a small range - hence taking only specific values like you said

The bug were you fall indefinitely and the graphics get messed up is probably caused by Mario’s Y position being so low that the game has trouble handling.

I've actually found a glitch myself! In the lake kingdom where I did it, grab the stack of goombas and walk to the patch of water by the Odyssey. Since gooombas die in water, kill that stack off! At some crazy timing, possess a goomba and.. well.. mobile.twitter.com/RandomP3RS0N137/status/934486389181124608 The goomba will be in pure polka-dots as if it was you behind a hill or something. Stacking Goombas will make them dotted too. If you unpossess the goomba it will stay dotted. The only way to reverse this is to kill the goomba off.

The method used in the cap kingdom works for the darker side too, and it’s easier! Also, for the mushroom kingdom freeze glitch, the doggo digs up the heart in a field of clovers. Look for that if you plan on doing this! You can also see the Koopa in the T-pose in the frozen state of the kingdom. Thanks for making this vid scykoh!

Scykoh you missed the most important part of the talkatoo glitch. You can store the glitch but quickly changing your camera angle so talkatoo is not on your screen. The next time you look at him, it will do the glitch. This can be used to completely break the jump rope challenge. If you store the glitch, go over to the jump rope challenge, ground pound over the jump rope and switch your camera over to talkatoo, you will be frozen in mid air. So now you are just floating over the jump rope getting infinite points. I’m at 30k right now, takes about 15 hours to max your points :\ Just look it up if you want to do it
