Because Bowser is from the Mario equivalent of Asia. Also this isn´t a oriental castle, but more like a Chinese/Japan castle. He only was most likely to be found in european castles, because he infiltreted those from Princess Peach and took them over.

My goodness!!! Mind blown. I’m here because I can’t seem to beat the last boss in this level, but damn I pretty much missed half the hidden moons & purple coins. I’m going to to have to re-do the game when I finally beat it and look deeper. This is week 1 of my 1st game on my very 1st Switch/first video game console EVER!!
