If I remember right... Mario was Spade, Peach obviously Heart, Mallow the Clover, Bowser had Diamond, and Geno had the Star which might as well be the Joker/Wild card

I just noticed something technically each character has their own triple move that is associated with them, starry shell spike is Mario’s, healing rainbow is mallow’s, shooting star shot is geno’s, clown car barrage is bowser’s, and spare-us-all is peach’s so I guess you can star riders is the star road’s triple move

I feel bad for Mario's special move. Basically he got only two move like original game. I was hoping they, at least, create new ones for him like using the Nozzle from Mario sunshine to do a water attack for example and adding at least two more specials to bowser kit as well

Simce the release of Luigi's Mansion (and probably even before that) Miyamoto wanted to remove the peace sign to make Mario and Luigi a bit less child-like. But honestly i love this new animation

not only do these attacks give a bit more variety in battle it brings out more of the personality of these characters mallow being the biggest example as most of these showcase his childish side more (seriously look at his face when he sees the rainbow after his triple with peach and mario its the most precious scene ever 1:31)

@@masedaace5473 Geno Flash could work as an up special. When used on the ground, it works the way it does in SMRPG and when used in the air, he aims downward and the shot recoils him into the air.
