its so much of a goof fest there are like 3 boss battles that just happen, the first is 2 jester that just show up at Booster's place and now you're fighting them. then there is a Flyguy who is just watering his plants, which just so happen to want to kill you and you cant just leave i guess?😆 and then the cake that comes to life with no explanation, to where even the chefs who made it dont know why.🤣

This game really did invent Bowser's entire personality for the next twenty years. He did not have one prior to this. He was a huge angry monster that kidnaps a princess. He was, in a very literal sense, the antagonist of an arcade game in the local pizza parlor. Every moment they've had Bowser speak for more than four sentences in a row, this is the personality he gets.

"This game did invent Bowser's personality." It really did, and I'm still amazed by that. A Mario RPG spinoff made by Square was what solidified Bowser's personality all the way to the present day. The character we all know and love got his true start from this game

It's insane how thoroughly they established it right off the bat. A villainous brute who loves being evil like you'd expect, but who's actually a little insecure and genuinely wants to impress Peach, and to some extent, even Mario. A tyrant who acts ruthless toward his minions but does ultimately care about them. No future games really even add anything to that idea, they just worked off of it because it's so good. Even in the movie released this year, it still sticks! Bowser is an awesome character and it's thanks to this game.

In a surprising turn of events, I find myself witnessing a side of Dunkey that I never thought possible-the passionate and romantic endorsement of an RPG. Known for his comedic and often satirical take on video games, Dunkey has built a reputation as a charismatic and humorous commentator. However, in a recent video, the gaming icon revealed a deep and unexpected affection for a particular role-playing game. As the pixels danced across the screen and the epic soundtrack filled the room, Dunkey's usual wit and sarcasm took a backseat to a genuine and heartfelt appreciation for the RPG he was exploring. It was as if a new love had blossomed in the world of pixels and polygons, and Dunkey couldn't help but express his admiration with fervor. His commentary took on a more tender tone as he delved into the intricacies of the game's storytelling, character development, and world-building. Each compliment was delivered with a sincerity that resonated with fans who were accustomed to his lighthearted banter. It was clear that this RPG had captured not only Dunkey's attention but also his heart. Perhaps it was the captivating narrative, the immersive world, or the compelling characters that fueled Dunkey's newfound passion. Whatever the reason, witnessing this unexpected romance between the gaming icon and an RPG added a delightful twist to his usual content. Fans eagerly embraced this softer side of Dunkey, celebrating the unanticipated connection that had formed between him and the virtual realm. In the end, the video served as a testament to the diverse and unpredictable nature of the gaming experience. Just as in real life, love can bloom unexpectedly, and Dunkey's passionate and romantic endorsement of this RPG left an indelible mark on the hearts of his audience.

Hi Dunkey. I really enjoyed this video. I prefer your videos where you talk about your past or childhood experiences with games, and show games you like to play and talk about features of games you like, for example, background art, character design, gameplay, like in this video. This was entertaining to watch and a helpful recommendation. I find joy, entertainment and prefer type of videos like this. My other favourites are prank calling videos where you goof around and have fun pranking other people, being silly while in the background you play a browser game or show relevant images.

This is what makes me come back here. The understanding of video games in it's historical context, combined with the sentimental feeling of: "Yes that's what playing a videogame felt or feels like". It's just pure quality right here.

I really like how dunkey points out the sheer length of most RPGs and how much commitment they demand. I like most RPGs (I really enjoyed Persona 5 Royal last year and I loved Octopath Traveler 2), but my word do I wish they were just generally shorter. This is another reason why I love Mario RPGs, EarthBound or Chrono Trigger. All of these games are quite concise and can be beaten in like 15-30 hours. As a result, they also have a ton of replay value by comparison. I've replayed every Mario RPG like 10 times at least. And though I really liked Persona 5, I don't see myself going for another playthrough anytime in the foreseeable future. It's another reason why I liked Sea of Stars a lot. I spent 35 hours with that game and then I had done everything. Perfect length, if you ask me.

I loved this game as a kid, unlocking all the secrets while in elementary school and talking about it, or even reenacting it on the playground. Now that a really faithful remaster is out, I'm reliving that joy, but with my elementary school son. It's effort in games like these that make the media more than just a game, but an art, a cherished memory.

This game opened the door to turn based RPG's for me. I loved the OG so much and this remake managed to recapture all the fun I had back in the day and give it a face lift while adding some quality of life changes. Enjoyed every second of my time playing this game.

The only thing Nintendo would do with the series at the very least would be to release Mother 3 worldwide, but given how they are, they probably won’t do it until in a year after 2026, which would be over 20 years after the original game’s release. Think about it. In less than 3 years, Mother 3 will be 20 years old and it’s still Japan only. I can imagine that the big salt rub on the wound would be is to release it on GBA Switch Online, but again Japan only. They did it on the Wii U so it’s not the first time they cockblocked the rest of the world from officially playing it without relying on fan translations.

This gave me the right amount of nostalgia and I can't wait to play this game all over again. It's exactly how I remember it was and the remaster just looks and sounds perfect to me. This was my jam in the 90s. I remember patiently waiting for the one copy at my local video store to be returned so I can finally rent it. It was one of my favorite gaming memories of that decade!

This is a GREAT commentary of what being an adult gamer in a market saturated with great games is. And it truly makes me appreciate SMRPG more, which I made a short work in a long weekend of because I have played this extensively before.

As a 30 year old man with a family I can say that I get about 5 hours a week to myself, if I'm lucky. The chance to play something this nostalgic from my childhood to the end would be a pretty great experience.

I also really enjoyed how simple and short they made this game. I've been playing so many long rpgs, and this one was a nice break without too much commitment or story to focus on. There was still story, but not an insane amount that I had to keep up with to truly enjoy the game. The music and characters were also amazing.

Dunk is spot on with the amount of time games take to finish these days. It's why I started emulating, to go back and play some of the older titles I never got to to play when I was a kid, so I can knock out a game in a weekend like back in the day.
