Super Mario RPG Remastered - The Road is Full of Dangers

The Road is Full of Dangers from Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, remastered to CD quality, using the original synth and sample CD sources!
This remaster comes by way of my friend, E3Kay, with mixing and mastering handled by Xerxes! It's been a long while since we've had any Mario RPG tracks done, and seeing the comments on the existing Remasters made me want the team to do more songs for the game. It was thanks to E3Kay's overall enthusiasm for the game and help with documenting samples for the game that we're here now, and I'm happy to have her work on this track from the game, with Xerxes helping bring it in line with the existing Remasters, thanks to his mixing. I'm very happy with the end result, and thank everyone involved for a great job!

I hope Nintendo starts using characters like Geno and Mallow from Mario RPG in more games after this remake. Imagine if the last characters they announce for the Mario Kart 8 DLC are Geno and Mallow. That would be awesome

Part of the issue is that those characters are believed to be at least partly owned by Square Enix.

This made me think about how cool it would've been if the remake had the original soundtrack but with HQ samples but that would've been too much work.

I'm really hoping they don't just go with orchestral arrangements for most of the remake's soundtrack, like we heard on the trailer. It would be a shame for all that variety of instrumentation to be lost in the transition.

Of course a bit different because they're not reimagining 8 bit music this time, but I expect that same trademark polished orchestral sheen Nintendo is so in love with these days. Am I getting old in not appreciating Nintendo's new musical approach, or am I simply right in wanting them to use more creative musical textures?

@@georgevieira6686 No no, I agree that foregoing older compositions which used more variety(albeit with samples instead of real instruments) is bad on the whole for remakes. I liked almost everything about the remake of RPG so far, but the music is so bland and uninteresting. Orchestra doesn't have to be that, look at Mario Galaxy 1 & 2, or Skyward Sword!

Now that everybody remembers about Super Mario RPG I think this was a good time for this to happen, specially because some elements are actually from uncompressed files instead of the chip ones, so we could compare better
